The European Union’s first directive on combating violence against women has hit a roadblock with a number of countries, including Ireland, unable to agree on a legal definition of rape.
Under the proposed text, approved by the European Parliament, the crime of rape is based on lack of consent.
However, not all member states agree on this definition, and so rape risks not being included in the directive on combating violence against women.
Ireland is among the member states that has not yet supported the current definition of rape. […]

Never mind that word “harmonize”, which means top-down lawmaking and taking away states’ rights.
BTW, the word “row” in the headline has its “ow” pronounced like in “gown” rather than like in “own”, and means a disagreement or argument rather than objects arranged in horizontal series.
I must be getting old. I remember the time when everybody actually knew what rape was.
They should not allow the racist “cosmic reparations” definition for the migrants defense.

Even in the 90’s, while I was in college, consent could be revoked after the event. And I am not talking about when she was drunk.
And yes, a male getting raped is a bigger burden of proof.
Well, this is the age where people don’t know what a woman is either.
And this directive (which is what the EU calls their lower level of dictates, the higher level being “regulations”) is supposed to center around violence against women.
(1) Rape by migrant = "sexual emergency"
(2) Rape against Jewish woman = "resistance"
The EU is incredibly gynocentric, thats why they are trying to do it this way. Wish they went after paternity fraud and people marrying others under false pretenses the same way.
They look androcentric to me, although the males in question are undoubtedly effete. The few women allowed into power are themselves androgynes.

Article 5
Rape
1.Member States shall ensure that the following intentional conduct is punishable as a criminal offence:
(a)engaging with a woman in any non-consensual act of vaginal, anal or oral penetration of a sexual nature, with any bodily part or object;
(b)causing a woman to engage with another person in any non-consensual act of vaginal, anal or oral penetration of a sexual nature, with any bodily part or object.
2.Member States shall ensure that a non-consensual act is understood as an act which is performed without the woman’s consent given voluntarily or where the woman is unable to form a free will due to her physical or mental condition, thereby exploiting her incapacity to form a free will, such as in a state of unconsciousness, intoxication, sleep, illness, bodily injury or disability.
3.Consent can be withdrawn at any moment during the act. The absence of consent cannot be refuted exclusively by the woman’s silence, verbal or physical non-resistance or past sexual conduct.

Sounds like the politicization of the word. Lemme guess, grape does not include immigrants and now includes regret grape, where consent is revoked afterwards because he dumped you.
You mean “Rape” Rape.
It should make explicit that it is rape when committed through violence, threats of any sort, or fraud.
