He hates Trump and his supporters because they threaten his family business, which by using his political office has made he and his wife very wealthy.
It always comes down to money. Only money could explain the insane antipathy these grifters have towards Trump.

I don’t get that. I understand most of what Mitch does makes some sense. He’s stuck with a Romper Room of out of control egos and huge political differences, so he’d rather take the arrows than let the media have a field day with it...and that strategy does actually help us (compared to the alternative - open warfare).
But why bother angering the voters who are responsible for, literally, EVERY Republican in the Senate - they weren’t put there by ‘moderates’ or ‘independents’ or certainly not Democrats, they were put there by the same people he’s angering.
...and then you have Cruz saying the same, so go figure that one out.
McConnell has his own agenda. It is all about Mitch, his power, and his money.

The current action by McConnell and the Rinos during the Trump administration is why I dropped my Republican membership. These Republicans are and have been unwilling to fight like it matters. This is a culture war, not a pillow fight.
