If the guy was truly caught trying to smuggle about 222kg of methamphetamine from China to Australia, then he should be put to death or at the least get a life sentence with no parole.

The obvious riposte is for Canada to expedite the extradition of Huawei’s Meng Wanzhou to the US, where she can spend the next few years preparing for trial while being held in a maximum security prison without bail. While we can’t execute her for purely economic crimes, we could give her a life sentence in a Supermax facility, where she can contemplate the meaning of life or learn conversational Swahili.
