So bringing civilization to Africa was a crime against humanity?

But.... the AFRICANS insist that everyone descended from AFRICANS. They claim they are the roots and foundation of the entire world civilization.
Even a liberal site confirms that blacks were slave owners, that Blacks in Africa sold Blacks as commercial property, and that the White Man in America, freed Blacks as property in America - as well as the rest of the world.
To paraphrase President Abraham Lincoln, in reviewing the carnage and death of the American Civil war, and the discussion of Slavery Reparations - "the debt is paid in full". The hundreds of thousands of Americans who sacrificed their lives to free the blacks, paid whatever debt was owed - then and forever.

I do believe it was the Muslim Arabs who started the international African slave trade, but I don’t see any mention of reparations from them. Then there are the African chiefs who sold captured enemy tribesmen into slavery. Then there is the ongoing slavery right now as Africans are being auctioned off in Libya thanks to 0bama and Hillary.
Let them get the money from Islam. It was Islamic slave traders who sold them into slavery.
So which African tribes are they gonna demand payment for selling other African tribes into slavery? Probably one of the reasons why east coast Africans hate west coast Africans.

If we’re going to be paying debts for one people group messing with another people group going back into history, there are some pretty egregious examples that never got addressed.
Reparations have already been paid. They’ve been paid in the form of Affirmative Action, government contract set-asides for minority owned businesses, grants to historically black colleges and universities, corporate grants to organizations such as the Urban League, and minority scholarship programs just to name a few examples. Reparations have been paid, and paid many times over.
The wealth in the South that was created by slaves was mostly destroyed in their emancipation.
So: ‘evens’.
However, I suppose they could claim that wealth the North got from slavery and the wealth the North bought for nothing after the war.
Be interesting to see the money trail- or at least good for a laugh at the expense of NY/New England liberals.

We have already paid. Taxes are high because the money goes to non-productive individuals who hate us. We have paid by being victims of crime. The knockout “Game.” The lack of trust among citizens, because of the high rate of crime.
If this were to happen, you know it wouldn’t end there. Every imagined victim group would be asking for money. Then, in 5 years they would all ask for it all over again.

I hate to break this to this fool, but most of the slaves were sold into slavery by fellow Africans, and there is not a person alive today who cannot find someone whose ancestors were not wronged, by slavery, genocide or other heinous acts by another.
Slavery has been illegal in the US longer than it was legal... half a million men lost their lives fighting a war you claim was just about this.... and while it is estimated about 12.5 million slaves were taken from Africa, less than 400,000 wound up on the mainland of North America. So in other words more men died in the United States in a war to end slavery than were ever imported into the continental US to begin with.
I am not going to defend slavery, it’s a heinous endeavor that devalues human dignity... however the notion that reparations are owed to descendants of those who’s ancestors endured it is beyond silly.
It comes down to who gets paid? Not so easy.
Are we paying blacks who can verify an ancestor was actually a slave? Or blacks without that history as well? Blacks whose family only arrived in the 20th century?
What % African ancestry is required? At least 50% ? 25% ? 5% ? Those who simply self-identify? (Hello Rachel D.)
And how much money per person are we talking about? $10,000 seems somewhat trivial. $100,000? $1.0 mil? The bill would be ugly.
Where does this money come from? Tax? Who are we taxing? Everyone? Caucasians only? Hispanic and Asian too? Everyone but blacks? Are we excluding certain low income levels? At what level? So we’re taxing the rich? Middle class?
And what of blacks who have been very financially successful and are millionaires? Paying them too when the money could legitimately help out much lower income levels better?
Or is this not just about slavery but discrimination? Do nearly all races but Caucasian suddenly lay claim?
Any payout formula could get messy fast, if it could even be agreed upon to begin with.

Prior to the development of modern vaccinations and antibiotics, the life expectancy of a non-African in central Africa was under a year.
The Atlantic slave could have not existed without the enthusiastic cooperation of the stronger, more aggressive Africans who enslaved and sold their weaker, less-aggressive neighbors.
The only acceptable reparation would be repatriation. Don’t let the door hit you on your way out.
Notice the author leaves out South America, which also had a thriving slave trade. The South America, the average slave lived 10 years, compared to 30 years in the US.
