GREENWICH VILLAGE Crowds gathered at Washington Square Park Wednesday evening to protest President Donald Trump's recent executive orders.
The president moved this week to restrict people from select countries with large Muslim populations from entering the United States, to build a wall along the border of Mexico and to cut federal funds to "sanctuary cities" like New York that don't cooperate with deportations and other federal actions against undocumented immigrants.
"Say it loud, say it clear, refugees are welcome here," the crowd chanted.

The protest was organized quickly by the New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY).
The executive order barring travel from countries with large Muslim populations targets Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.
It does not include Egypt, Turkey or Saudi Arabia, where the Trump family has business endeavors.
The executive order on sanctuary cities specified that cities that declare themselves sanctuaries for immigrants, as New York City has, will be ineligible to receive federal grants, other than those deemed necessary for law enforcement purposes.
Comptroller Scott Stringer previously estimated Trump could impact a total of $7 billion that the city relies on from the federal government.
The majority of that funding goes to the NYPD's counterterrorism efforts more than 61 percent of which is funded by the federal government and to services for the city's neediest denizens, including child protective services, affordable housing and HIV/AIDS prevention.
The sanctuary cities order also states that the Trump administration plans to release a weekly report of criminal actions committed by aliens and any [city] that ignored or otherwise failed to honor the efforts of federal immigration authorities.
New York City is one of several cities around the country that has pledged not to cooperate with federal immigration officials.
Saudi Arabia’s involvements maybe should add them to the lists.
Cry Me a River
Quit ur bitchin’. He told you he was going to do it. He’s not a politician so he actually means what he says. Soup Rice snowflakes.
The smell of goat encrusted gentiles smells like crap but victorious.
Saudi Arabia is the root of evil in the Middle East. They’re worse than Iran when it comes to spreading terrorism. People have been afraid to utter Islamic terrorism for 8 years, but the crucible of terrorism is Wahhabism. 90% of all new mosques are Wahhabist, and all of them are funded by the Saudis.
The entire War on Terror has been a farce—we have been in bed with these terrorists the entire time. Half the military has been corrupted by associating with these frauds. It’s is worse than most people could even conceive. We need to completely sever tied with this evil country and its satellites like Qatar.
I would like to see these protesters given incentives to relocate their sorry asses to the Middle East so they can play in the sand boxes with the Muzzies.
Get out, muzzards.
But remember they have not had someone who actually followed through for awhile....
You aint seen nothing yet.
By the weekend cities will be on fire. The international left has not yet absorbed what has happened over the last 3 days. They are still wondering what and how to oppose Monday’s orders.
The Commies are not going to take this sitting down. They are going to stand up and INSIST we shoot them.
Silly bastards.
I think 45 will break the backs of the Middle East with cheap energy.
$45 or 45 Caliber? Lol
Yeah, they’ll throw bricks at the police, burn cars and buildings, and beat people who don’t agree with them, in order to prove their tolerance of course.
President 45.
meh. CAIRS days are numbered. I’m considering this their death rattle
And to think years ago they were so bold as to think they could build a mosque at ground 0.
Oh have times changed.
