To conservatives like me, the following proposal for raising taxes on Hollywood celebrities goes against my DNA. However, two facts are indisputable: (1) Hollywood is perhaps Obama's biggest booster club, giving him donations in kind and in dollars, and (2) Congress' stated goal is to raise taxes on the wealthy, although they will actually raise them on everyone. Therefore, with a bit of irony in mind, I propose the following for debate.
After listening to Democrats argue that the wealthy arent paying their fair share of taxes, its time for Americans to take an empirical view of the massive wealth accumulated by Hollywood celebrities at the expense of their fans, and at a great loss to the government coffers.
Since large numbers of celebrities are Democrats and they cheerfully endorse Barack Obamas tax policies, shouldnt it be incumbent upon them to lead by example? With this idea in mind, and in the spirit of patriotic bipartisanship, we should push Congress to levy special taxes on the giant honey pots in Hollywood, New York, and elsewhere. The fiscal cliff is looming, so our government needs to devise many ways to satisfy our legislators unquenchable thirst to tax and spend.
As the table below of extraordinary net worth reveals, one could argue that celebrities must be picking our pockets every time we enter a theater or purchase music and videos.

Massive taxes on television, films and newpapers/magazines too
Yes, that was my next thought.
And don't forget we need to save the Earth from CO2. So we need to shut down all TV broadcasts, cable and satallites from 10 PM until 10 AM every day.
Think of all the electricity and "CO2 pollution" that will save.
especially the dead tree media, time to kill it off.... for the environment of course... :p
not to mention the mind pollution
We should prosecute every damn studio that uses “Hollywood Accounting” as well because they use it to dodge taxes too.
I love it! Television accounts for ~7.3% of daily household energy consumption (clothes washers account for 0.7% by comparison). Just think how much carbon we could save if we lowered that! This is exactly what conservatives need to do - go after each and every sacred cow the left has.
Now you’re thinking! Alinskyites are always going for the conservative’s jugular. Time to go on the offense.

Thanks for bringing in the table.
We should also go after the profits made in the US by any actor/actress who has moved to France or elsewhere. Make them pay US taxes, even if they give up their US citizenship. The money they make is based on the profits the movie they’re in makes, and if that money is made in the US, then tax them on this basis. Start looking into the gender and racial mix of movie and television studio ownership and management, and hold them to the standards that everyone else has. etc. etc.
Obamanation Communism File.
They’ll really get it with the Wealth Tax too. And you can bet it’s coming.
Looks like “Fiddy” Cent is worth about a half a billion “fiddy” cents.
Don’t forget ballplayers, especially basketball players. They were big Obama supporters, so they should be more than happy to pay more taxes. Hey, we should get this on the White House petition website.
Meet rapper “50 Cent”. A picture worth 250 million words. Link provided because I can’t figure out how to get the image to post.

We should just take all their money. They’re unlikely to hold on to it, and it will cost the taxpayers more than they will make during their career to care for all their baby mama’s.
