It doesn’t matter whether the slur is backed up by facts, the target doesn’t deal in facts and still wouldn’t care if they did. It’s directed at black people who appear to have begun questioning the abortion rate in their community. Making it a crypto-racist whitey thing nips that in the bud.

It reminds me of nothing so much as an attack upon homeschoolers I heard nearly a decade ago, equally stupid but lethal among the intended recipients of the message. There actually were people claiming that homeschoolers only cared about teaching their children to read so they could read the Bible. Never mind that by implication, public schools were failing in that indeavor intentionally in order to prevent reading the Bible.

The minds they’re attempting to fill with this sort of knee-jerk demonization don’t ever go so far as to consider implications, alternatives and consequences. They’re being provided more reason to hate groups that they already hate and just run with it.
