There is absolutely nothing worse than trying to place yourself as equal to God. Don't you get it?
The Hebrew term for gods, “eilim,” which also means mighty ones, has some contextual uses to indicate entities that are not literally God. Angels are among them, as are people in certain roles. I believe Mormons have taken this way beyond the intended meaning but that’s neither here nor there.
