Octomom, a.k.a. Nadya Suleman, has decided to forge ahead with her adult entertainment career and do a quick stint as a stripper. The mom of 14 booked a gig at T’s Lounge in West Palm Beach, and will perform from July 11 – 15.

This news comes on the heels of her house almost being foreclosed on, and her decision to make a masturbation porn. And while I think it’s easy to say “poor Octomom” at this point, I feel the opposite about her recent choices — I think she’s doing what she has to do to take care of her kids, and there is actually no shame in the sex work game. Of course, her situation points to all kinds of larger problems in our society — the fact that she was implanted with so many embryos in the first place, the fact that there isn’t enough day care or child care in the world to help her.

But her decision to do sex work isn’t the problem — it’s a solution (for the moment, at least) and a workable one at that.

I may be in the minority here, but I do feel a measure of pity for Suleman. Not because her actions have led her to the deep end of the moral gutter, but because she had such screwed up values to put more importance on getting her 15 minutes of reality star fame than living a normal life in the first place. It’s a fool’s errand that builds a future on nothing and usually takes far more than it gives.

All comments about morality aside....I can't imagine the woman having a body that she wants to display in a porn flick...after carrying so many babies at once. Did someone pay for her to have some sort of surgical "fixes" or what? Granted the money might be great, but what next??? There are many years ahead, and her body won't always bring her income. The woman has nothing to fall back on.

Those poor children, what example is she setting for them about preparing for and handling their own futures? This has been a circus from the beginning and the doctor should be reprimanded and made to assist her with expenses for all those children.

I feel sorry for her children. Let’s all remember that they had no choice in her decisions and will live with the consequences and what will certainly be a dysfunctional childhood. Sad. I wish we could just ignore this woman, but I am confident she would do something even more outrageous to get the attention she obviously seeks.
