Should Sarah Palin Be Indicted for Incitement to Violence? (They're serious!)
Death & Taxes ^ | January 18, 2011 | Stephen Blackwell

Posted on 01/18/2011 6:56:46 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

On Monday, Ross Douthat defended Sarah Palin in his op-ed “Scenes from a Marriage.” Sure, he took the position that the media ought to give up on Palin and get back to normal productive coverage of normal productive politicians. But he also aimed to extinguish any “possible link between Jared Lee Loughner’s crime and Palin’s martial campaign rhetoric.” The next day Palin took a spectacular dip in the polls, down to a 38% approval rating.

There’s already a burgeoning movement that suggests Palin and her contemporaries, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, shouldn’t be let off so easy in there connection to the Tucson massacre, an area Palin marked on her infamous (and totally looney) crosshairs map.

At Petition Online a group has set up a request that the Department of Justice open an investigation into the rhetoric conservative’s now rely on to get undereducated, trigger-happy Americans out to vote. That’s not perceived metaphor from a liberal, by the way. Palin has actually stated that by “reload” she means go out and vote.

Should the Department of Justice open an investigation into Palin? Well, when you place a target over an area, you are most assuredly suggesting something be fired at it. That actually happened. If the DOJ does not open an investigation, it suggests our democracy see the shooting and Palin’s rhetoric as nothing more than a happy coincidence. This would be a real tragedy.

The Tucson shooting should not have been another opportunity for Palin to position herself under the Klieg lights. It should be an opportunity to put her in front of a jury. Sign the petition.

I think Sarah should use the 'Barry Soetoro Certifigate Defense'.
Just state that the complainant has no standing and tell them to STFU.

We don’t prosecute by petition in this country and the left should be thankful. We would have put them out of business by now.

It's bad enough that democrats/marxist politicians blamed conservatives for what this mass murdering lunatic did but even worse also mainstream media reporters that are supposed to be just reporting facts did too.

Reporters in the mainstream media are supposed to be just reporting facts, truth , what is happening in the world not making up slanderous lies and hoaxes such as saying conservatives caused this mass murdering insane lunatic to go on a mass murdering rampage.

Reporters are evil democrats too and they are not doing their job. When will people stop believing the democrat mainstream media?

And this:

“the rhetoric conservative’s now rely on”

This guy is definitely not subject to Loughner’s grammar mind control. (Nor spelling.)

Nuts doesn’t do justice to these idiots, there are no words to convey how crazy they are. In a good old fashioned insane asylum they would be confined in maximum security lockdown.

I knew they were half-wits when I got to this part: be let off so easy in there connection to the Tucson massacre

Or, this part:

"...a group has set up a request that the Department of Justice open an investigation into the rhetoric conservative’s now rely on..."

Guarantee you, this was written by some dope-smoking, twenty-something hippie, living in his parents' basement. The very idea that such a petition would get more than a 'roll eyes' from the Justice Department, is just ludicrous.

I can’t believe her her approval fell by that amount.

It didn't. They're making it up, as they go along. Just 'following orders', you know.

I can assure you that Sarah's real approval rating went up several notches after that video was released.

I saw some polls that said that around 35% of Americans do believe that conservatives caused this mass murdering lunatic to go on a mass murdering rampage. Funny how that number corresponds to the number of registered democrats.

While I’m personally opposed to violence against liberals, I respect the right of those who are faced with that very difficult decision. It’s a private, personal choice. Violence against liberals should be legal but rare./sarc

The next day Palin took a spectacular dip in the polls, down to a 38% approval rating.

Bull!

Sarah Palin's high approval #'s before the Tucson massacre came from the Tea Party and conservatives. The "spectacular dip" in her rating would have meant that the very people who were co-accused with her by the liberal media in the said massacre suddenly turned against her. It doesn't make sense. Also, Palin couldn't have gained more haters on the liberal side. There wasn't any lib before the tragedy that had a favorable view of her.

Crossfire was a current events debate television program that aired from 1982 to 2005 on CNN.

LOL, go ahead and indict her, it will be the silliest move ever made by moonbats and rocket her to the Presidency.

I hope so.

Looking down the road, though, Establishment "I like Sarah but ..." Republicans who love to compromise with liberals will see this as yet another tick against her, one more thing that, in their eyes, makes her unelectable. Too bad, so sad, in ILSB circles. Guess it'll have to be Romney. We know our good (but that's redundant) American conservatives will chicken out. The more dire America gets, the more absurd and celebritized "pop" culture with Palin becomes, only Romney benefits. American will be just desperate enough to vote for anything. It disgusts me that so-called Republican leaders are so afraid of the power of the MSM that they counsel letting it call the shots.

As puzzleman noted on another thread: There is another important reason why the MSM is upset with Palin. She reached the people without the MSM being involved. And she did it with video and very effective video at that. This is a major breakthrough. The absolute power of the MSM to control access to the American people has been breached. God bless Sarah Palin for this important achievement!
