If Ron Paul changed his stance on foreign policy would you vote for him in 2012?

Posted on 09/05/2010 12:24:46 AM PDT by citizenredstater9271

I know not a lot of people on free republic like Dr. Paul because of his stance on foreign policy. I want to ask: if he changed his foreign policy and supported finishing the war on terror and stood behind Israel 100% would you vote for him in 2012? What other candidate wants to bring America back to the constitution and end the FED?

How can anybody trust libertarians when their favorite
“son” loads up legislation that he knows will pass and
gives the pork while giggling “I voted against it.”?

Absolutely not.

No amount of “image re-conditioning” would interest me in a REAL nutjob.

OPINION:

I’ve taken a moment to review your posts on FR.

You obviously are a supporter of Ron Paul.

Why don’t you contact him and ask him how you can help support him?

That might be more satisfying to you than posting Ron Paul threads on FR.

Just a thought.

Ron Paul has committed the unforgiveable crime on FR.

So even though he continues to get re-elected in a district filled with rational people he is deemed a nut job.

He did a few things for his district that go against his stated principles, like every other politician that has ever survived an election, yet he is the only one that is constantly accused of being a hypocrite.

If Ron Paul had supported the Iraq and Afghanistan wars all along then he would not be considered a nutjob on FR, nor particularly hypocritical.

When the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan finally achieve equilibrium, i.e. those countries are once again ruled by corrupt dictators, then he will be seen as something of a prophet.

But then all prophets are viewed as nutjobs and hypocrites during their lifetimes.

>>> Ron Paul has committed the unforgiveable crime on FR.

Cindy Sheehan endorsed Ron Paul for the presidency over Barack Obama. That’s not a crime. But it puts the man and his agendas in proper perspective.

and also:

Sheehan: “I don’t want to even discuss who is likely to be the Republican nominee, because besides having little foreign policy difference between any of them and Hillary, anyone of them would be a complete disaster on matters of war and peace, with the possible exception of Ron Paul (Tx).”

you’re asking a 0% chance of that happening. Ron Paul is who is he. He will not change. I don’t mind his son though, Ran Paul as VP with Sarah Palin as President

A more plausible question would be if 0bama rejected socialism, embraced the free market, cut taxes, reversed his foreign policy and supported Israel, repealed 0bamaCare, set the government seized banks and auto makers free, stopped bankrupting the country, converted from Islam, and replaced Joe Biden with Jim DeMint, would you vote for him in 2012?

Chrissy Matthews voted for Bush in 2000.

I guess that makes Bush a limp-wristed tard by your logic.
