You said — “The employer pays the employee.”

If you’re using an analogy to make a comparison with how a President gets to be President — your analogy is broken. It doesn’t *work* in real life with the President of the United States — in the manner you’re saying.

You’ve set up a “picture” of something that does happen in real life, in some small business (for example) in which the guy who owns the business makes the determination of hiring a person, and he writes out the check for the payroll. All that’s fine and dandy.

The problem? That’s not how it works with the President of the United States and “who hires him”.

In other words — it’s *not real* for how we get the President. It would seem that too many posters here go on some irrational and unreal “analogies” that they *desire* to carry over to “real life” — like saying an employer hires the person and pays the payroll — so that means that the only people who “hire the President” are those who “pay taxes”.

Your analogy is broken, precisely because *it doesn’t work that way*... LOL...

You said — “Maybe in your Escherian world, it is otherwise, but the biggest problem here in the US is that the employers of Government are no longer the ones who do the hiring.”

Note this — you’ve shifted your argument to saying that I don’t believe that employers hire a person and give him a payroll check. You’re making up something that I never said. What I did say — is — *that* is not the way it works — in real life — with the President of the United States. The “employers” for him — which is saying *who hires him* — are precisely the voters who vote in the Presidential election. And they are doing it as a “hiring committee” in which the one who gets the most Electoral College Votes — *they* get to “hire him”.

You’ve shifted it over to how a employer hires in his own business. That’s not what we’re talking about with the President of the United States.

And finally — “That is reality, all BS aside. It is the equivalent of letting the bums on the sidewalk do the hiring for the business inside.”

So..., you’re saying that having people *vote in a President* who don’t pay taxes is the equivalent of letting bums on the sidewalk do the hiring for the business inside.

If this is what you think about allowing every citizen vote for any candidate in office — thus — wanting to *restrict* it to only people who pay taxes — I don’t think you’re going to get anywhere with that idea.

Sorry to tell you — *that* is not reality either...

We had it. ...21, and a property owner. were part of voting requirements when the Republic was yet young.

Of course not now, we already have enough people wanting that 'pie' to outvote anyone who would propose such a thing. Further, there is absolutely nothing in the Constitution which empowers the Government to be handing out all that 'pie', Incumbents were not supposed to be able to buy votes with the taxpayers' money.

Since we can't vote the gimme class off the teat, and as a result, they will continue voting for more and more teat, maybe corporations should just leave.

Oh, they did that--at least the ones who are not lined up for a big suck off of the employers of the Government, the taxpayers.

So, on your planet, how do you keep that scheme going?

You don't, at least not for any great length of time. You can talk about *reality* all you want, but when the bankruptcy of this country by socialists and sponges (corporate and individual) reaches critical mass, I suspect we'll all get a lesson in *reality*.

As to how a president gets to be president, all formalities aside, it appears the ticket is to promise the moon and stars to as many people as possible, have some really heavy backing, foreign and domestic, and work with people who have spent generations trying their level best to make sure the average person is too stupid to pour water put of a boot.

If no one knows or cares how it is supposed to work, you can get away with most anything.

While the messianic trip is optional, it is an absolute must that the purveyors of public opinion, the media, be in your pocket, or at least bought and paid for by whatever means necessary, and it does not hurt to have all manner of thugs and thuglets in the wings to attack, verbally or otherwise, anyone who questions the beatification of the 'one'.

A far cry from the days of someone who turned down the Crown, and only served two terms as President instead.

So, in all your ballyhoo about *reality*, are you arguing *for* the mess we have? Sure seems that way.

*it doesn’t work that way*... LOL...

Laughing out loud?

the people who voted for him will get what they deserve. unfortunately the rest of us are tied in with it.

his team is working on removing president term limits from the constitution. won’t that be fun. we’ll never get rid of this bag of sh*t.

Thank you, Gemsbok. Good post, Smokin’Joe. LOL seems to be his trademark; difficult to take him seriously when he thinks everything is funny.

I kind of like the idea of all the laws 0 signs not being valid. I hope the truth about his Kenyan birth comes out when it is too late for Plugs, Nazi Pelosi, and the other despots to get another chance at destroying this country.
