The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I just found some info about Sean Bean's new movie
HERE Looks like it might be interesting!

THAT'S RIGHT!!!
Actually, I am still used to working in industry. I liked getting to work at 6AM and getting off at 2:30 if I didn't work overtime. Then I had hours and hours to play.
I still feel like when I get home from work I require hours and hours before I should go to bed. Only thing is, I'm still waking up really early compared to my schedule. So, I need to sleep sometime! Fortunately I no longer wake up at 4:30 though. But, sometimes it's still 5 or 5:30. I'm gradually getting more adjusted to sleeping later. Trouble is, I still have 2 mornings a week to teach - so I can't totally reset my clock because I have to be up by 6:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
I'm just really messed up on my clock getting used to this. I should adjust eventually - I hope!

In case anyone was wondering where I'd gone off too!Well I thought about you yesterday morning! I baked some of your yummy Blueberry Muffins! I was gone a good part of the weekend. On Sat. I did a craft fair in the morning with a friend, then had Catechist training in the afternoon. Yesterday, the Girl Scouts had a booth at our town's fall festival. Unfortunately it rained off and on during the time we were there. Clare and her friend Erin were doing face painting, and there were about 30 kids who showed up. Maybe it's better that more kids didn't come, there were only the two of them, and I don't think they could have done many more.
Tried to catch up in the evenings, but it was usually VEY late when I got on.
Did y'all have fun? Where did you go camping?
To: RosieCotton
Thank you, Rosie! I guess I should give them a try.

We went to the state park where I usually catfish. We were planning on just going fishing like we frequently do, but my mom called in the middle of our preparations and they had just got home from camping...still had their trailer with them (not put away at the place they store it) so they just loaded a bit more stuff in it to eat and we all caravaned to the park and stayed!
It was gorgeous. The weather was sunny, crisp. My dad took the boys (who get bored after a while with fishing) on hikes and bike rides. We had a bon fire at night and made s'mores.
I caught a catfish, but it was too small to keep. I hooked it well, though and it didn't really damage it...so it lived to be caught another day! Otherwise, I stood on the shore, watching the sun sink and the shad sparkling on the top of the water in the sunlight...heaven on earth!

Sounds lovely. I envy you the crisp weather, too. It's still muggy here, maybe we'll get a little break in a couple weeks, though.

It was...really really beautiful and I thought about you! Wished you could see it.
I walked out around a little inlet of water...no path and I had on shorts. A thorn bush (vine like thing) caught me and gauged a 6" long gash in my shin! But I did finally make it to spot I was making for and got some good bites!
Just sat there bleeding and fishing, watching the shad! LOL I made back for the camp when it started getting dark and my mom shouted "WHAT HAPPENED!!" LOL It looked worse than it really was.

Vine-like thing with thorns huh? Leaves kinda far apart? cat-briar? If so, those leaves are really good to eat if you like fresh spinach!

Did it look like this? With thorns? The stuff I have is covered with thorns but I can't find a good picture that shows them yet. It sure is yummy in a salad though.

"Just sat there bleeding and fishing, watching the shad!" Once I cut the bottom of my foot on a piano hinge that worked the splash well, right while a school of dolphin was at the boat. They are voracious fish, and actually circle the boat, looking right up at you.
I was excited as could be at the prospect of catching a bunch of them, so I just hung my foot over the gunwhale, and let the blood drip in the water. Several dolphin swam right up and drank the blood as the drops hit the ocean, they were excited too. Of course, meanwhile I was throwing in plenty of pieces of cut bait to keep 'em chummed up and close by. It's been so long ago, I forgot how many we got, but it was plenty.
I bet if you bled in the water it would have got the shad going, too.
