A young boy died in a trial for Pfizer’s experimental gene therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the company told patient advocates Tuesday.
The boy was enrolled in Daylight, a trial studying the treatment in boys aged 2 or 3. The boy had received the therapy early last year, Pfizer told the advocates in a note posted online by Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy.
Pfizer said it had not yet determined precisely what happened or whether it was linked to the treatment. Deaths and severe side effects linked to gene therapy have generally happened soon after dosing.

I think it needs to be pointed out that healthy people are not enrolled into trials for these meds. In most cases, people are enrolled when nothing else has worked.
Very sad, however people die during experimental drug trials all the time. Sometimes it’s the only shot a person has at something like a cure. May God receive this young person into his loving embrace.

The risk of death may be worth it vs a life of misery.
Opting into a drug trial is not remotely the same as being mandated into one.
This seems very similar to cases where people who have been grateful for Trump signing the ‘Right to Try’ bill at least could have a chance.
I grew up with a kid who had this and he was in a wheelchair by the time he was 12 or so. I felt so sorry for him because we all knew it was a progressive disease and almost all die by their mid to late 20’s. However at earlier ages they are no more likely to die than anyone else. So this was definitely due to the mRNA injection.
Do they think they just sprung the test on the family? Getting into a clinical trial is a complicated and completely voluntary process.
How do you think EVERY medication has been tested?

In my experience, some people here don’t care whether one was against the mandate despite choosing to take the vaccine oneself. If you took it and admitted it, they call you everything from a shill for the drug companies to undercover ‘deep state’.

Before doing experiments on people why not get it right with other creatures first?
It has relevancy because many deaths occurred in the mRNA trials previous to covid. The parents took a calculated risk here knowing that this was a progressive disease that ultimately results in death so I’m not blaming them for trying it. I’m just saying that I personally wouldn’t recommend mRNA injections for anything other than a fatal disease that has no other treatment options.
I don’t know that this is possible for every therapy.
Pfizer’s primary concern is the engineering that’ll sustain and improve its financials and control of the market. The loss of like is an acceptable consequence when it concerns advances in its patented technology.
