The Center Square) - The Oklahoma Senate passed a bill that would make illegal immigration a state crime.

“The southern border crisis has created a scourge of illegal activities, including an increase in fentanyl, human trafficking and crime in our communities because of the inaction and abject failure at the federal level to secure our borders," Senate Pro Tem Greg Treat said. "The Oklahoma Legislature is taking the necessary action to protect our citizens. Doing nothing is unconscionable and this legislation is the appropriate measure to keep Oklahomans safe and uphold the rule of law.”

If they would go one step further to make it a hanging offense. Then hang a couple they would not have an illegal problem.

I concur. If crossing illegally was likely to end in the death of the intruder either in the Rio Grande or at their ultimate destination, only a few examples would be needed to get the message out.

I was stationed at Altus AFB in the mid 70s - A female (we knew what they were back then) bartender at the NCO club asked me if I knew what a Texan was - I bit and she told me....”A Texan is a Mexican on his way to Oklahoma”... she’d be rolling in her grave today...

Re: "Illegal state immigration"

GOP judges John Roberts and Brett Kavanaugh will both reject this on alleged Constitutional grounds.

Probably Amy Whats-Her-Name, too.

Some of you guys know me.
I’m the guy that gets pissed off over Texas and other states passing laws that they know are blatantly unconstitutional, just to look like they are doing something, instead of looking for ways to stop this that are in compliance with that pesky constitution thingie.
This one.... this one, has a better than average shot of being upheld.

I hope that makes it to where it cuts back on the free benefits — housing, food, healthcare, etc.

We own a wheat farm in Oklahoma. Several years ago, Oklahoma passed many anti-illegal alien laws. Among other things, they made it a state offense to house them, transport them, or hire them. When these laws passed, an estimated 35,000 illegals left Enid, OK. (Enid is not a big city.) Not long after that, we got a letter from the state explaining how our state income tax bill decreased as a result of those laws.

Nice! Make it to where they flee to sanctuary cities or, even better, go home.
