trump's not so secret weapon (melania)?

i have a recurring surmise that melania could potentially be a much bigger political asset to DJT in the 2024 presidential election than she currently appears to be (log cabin republicans? how many of those are there btw??).

before dismissing it altogether, give it a chance. melania checks two or three big boxes that her husband does not-- consider: women, immigrants, catholics.

melania also provide an eastern european perspective which might even be deployed against the ukranian war funding.

trump's achilles heel if he has one (and discounting ever present massive vote fraud, which is beyond this scope) is the women's vote. discounting vote fraud, we are where we are today due to liberal women voters.

in history, wilson had his wife. fdr had his wife. most presidents since fdr had their wives.

not casting shade, but melania seemed to fade into the background somewhat during the last two elections. i concede she was visible, and even could be considered somewhat active. however, was she ever deployed for maximum political effect? this would in theory include trump taking a step away from the public eye for a moment and pushing melania to the center stage.

maybe it has already been done and i just missed it (possible). maybe it can be dismissed out of hand as impractical. or, maybe it can be dismissed due to lack of support by melania-- in which case, maybe melania's devotion to her family duties eclipsed whatever political duty she might have felt in the past.

it's also a potentially dangerous step since if the liberals are willing to jail trump (or worse), they could also be willing to jail melania.

so unfortunate as it sounds, it might not be a purely political decision.

otoh, melania is (at least, i imagine) a naturalized american citizen. as such, she presumably now owes some allegiance to the USA. I'm not proposing that I or anyone else should presume to make such a heavy decision on her behalf-- it should always be her decision alone without any external pressure one way or another-- but the stakes are somewhat high right now, and if she wanted to be more active politically, I for one would not take issue with it.

> Nobody gives a F about Melania. Most women hate her, especially lefty ugly women. Other women hate her because she’s a gold digger that hooked up with Trump for one reason. Oh…but she speaks five languages!!! Nobody cares. Probably not even Donald.

OK... ok...

glass half full?

peace...

willing to jail trump (or worse), they could also be willing to jail melania.

Would we continue to be the sweet natured and patient folks we've always been up to now?

Jill Biden can get away with more due to her figure. But every once a while I’ve seen the pictures and she dresses like she’s still 25. But she’s 72. For most part, she’s not a bad dresser from what I’ve seen.

I don’t hate her - I admire how she sticks to what she thinks is important and feels no need to tell everyone everything - nor does she think she’s co-POTUS.

But yeah...lots of people are so jealous...

“She is, for different reasons, not well liked or respected in the US”

I guess it is partially the fact that she lacks the beauty and glamour that both Dr. Jill and Michelle exude, if fashion magazines are any judge. /s

I’m her age, slender-103-105. Granted, I live and work in the country, wear jeans to work and almost everywhere else-but I’m more into a nice denim/cotton skirt or dress-no flowers-to go out in. I would not be caught at a costume party in one of Jill’s outfits. My Brit neighbor says older women who dress like they are still in their 20’s are “mutton dressed up to be lamb”. It is how cougars dress, too-the female human ones-not the cat...

I just have a gut feeling she wishes that her husband had bowed out of running for president again. I don’t think she is FOR it at all or that she has much say about it...It feels like if she did express an opinion about it, it wouldn’t be taken into consideration. She doesn’t appear to have the ambition that other wives had to being in the WH - namely MOST dem wives....just think Hillary and Jill. It’s written all over them - can’t miss it.

I don’t think it ever occurred to Melania that her husband would run for president some day when she married him. Did he have that ambition that many years ago - 2005?

No. America was still America then. No reason for Trump to run.

And I recall news from early last here that she re-negotiated her pre-nup or something with Trump to secure her share of his money, continued terms of relationship. She’s been seen little with him, some reports have said they are not together much at all, definitely she’s not in a courtroom. Anyway, I think she should be left alone, they both got what they wanted when they married, let’s leave their family out of all this, especially him in court over payoff to a whore. Standing by her man got Hillary lots of ridicule, it’d be no different for Melania.

During the trial, Melania should be sitting behind Trump, with frequent displays of affection and support for him. Juries can be swayed by those sorts of things, especially when the charges implicate the marital bond.

yes although i do not recall seeing anything with solid attributions / legal document quotes (were there any??).

> She’s been seen little with him, some reports have said they are not together much at all, definitely she’s not in a courtroom.

yes although imho it is difficult to read anything definitive one way or another into all of that.

> Anyway, I think she should be left alone, they both got what they wanted when they married, let’s leave their family out of all this, ...

whether she likes it or not, she is a public figure. as much of a public figure as jill, nancy, barbara, or laura (although maybe not as much as hillary was/is)...

> especially him in court over payoff to a whore.

ok, ok... even if true(?), this proves what? i sense a disturbance of the gender force in this response... (redacted...)

yah, good point (i imagine). (jury selection specialist types may want to comment further...)
