I assume someone has done the research to verify that H5N1 is killed through pasteurization.

One problem with raw milk is that it can contain pathogenic organisms before the cow starts showing symptoms. And once a month testing of cows for disease doesn’t cut it—that’s only getting a snapshot of the cows’ health on the day of testing. They have the whole rest of the month to get sick and for contaminated milk to enter the food supply.

Fun fact: people who drink raw milk from a cow that becomes rabid must undergo rabies treatment.
