Hogan’s 10-day bus tour concludes Friday. Meanwhile, his campaign reported an impressive $3.1 fundraising haul after entering the race already halfway through the first official reporting period. This is looking like a very competitive race.

Agreed. I know Larry Hogan is too liberal for us on Free Republic, but in a liberal state such as Maryland, he’s the best Republicans can hope for in such a place.

In politics, you can't get everything you want. That's why the Democrsts got Joe Manchin in West Virginia.

“I would honestly at this point just want the democrat to win.”

I prefer that Trump’s judges and nominees get Senate confirmation, rather than be rejected...but then maybe that’s just me.

I’m with you.

The Uniparty loyalists on this thread are perfectly fine with a Republican party dominated by RINOs. Those RINOs (Democrats who run as Republicans) do far more damage than covert Democrats could ever do.

There are 16 Democrats with a more conservative voting record than Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Susan Collins (R-ME).

"Trump supports Newhouse in Washington state."

There's a thread down-page that says Trump's supporting Sessler, Newhouse's challenger in the primary.

“Perfect is the enemy of good.”

Yep...A "Hogan" is probably the only chance in a blue quagmire like Maryland to get a senator's "no" vote on codifying Roe v Wade. Yeah, he's lousy on the second amendment etc., but a Rat would be worse.

I intend to cast my ballot for either John Myrick, a dark horse candidate or Ronald Reagan in the primary.

I’ll hold my nose and vote for Hogan in the General, scum traitor that he is.

He may give republicans control, but another RINO doesn’t really help anyone but the Democrats. Because RINOs are committed controlled opposition, to real Republicans.

Of the poor choices you have in Maryland, your choice is the one that sucks the least. Take what you can get when you can get it and come back for more at the next opportunity.

Baltimore City, and Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties pretty much determine state-wide elections. Of course Hogan did manage to get elected governor so there is hope.

True, the swath of the state from DC up towards Philly pretty much determines Md as being blue. Hogan was in my town this past week and I found it irritating all the swooning going on for fat Larry. With that said, I will hold my nose and vote for him rather than Trone.

Hogan a hero? As in sandwich? As in great big, bloated, oversized sandwich with a fair amount of empty calories.?

I doubt Hogan will be any worse than Murkowski or Collins.

The time to get rid of RINOs is in the primaries. We’re past that in many states. Once the RINO is the nominee, hold your nose and vote for him/her/it/they/them because even a bad RINO is better than a very good Dhimmicrat for scores of reasons.

Trump endorsed Dan Cox in MD for the governorship and Cox failed miserably with his ultra-MAGA ads he ran in hard left Montgomery,PG and Howard counties. Hogan won two elections in MD and was pretty well liked. Was he conservative? Hardy, but he was way more conversative than the far left libtard Dhimmicrats in MD politics. Think Steny Hoyer, Ben Cardin, and Jamie Raskin. Unfortunately MAGA is only going to sell in the rural MD Eastern Shore and western counties, so Republicans better take what they can get and right now that looks like Hogan.

Absolutely not! We’ve tried it your way for decades and it’s been a spectacular failure.

RINOs are far worse than Democrats.

Mitch McConnell and his gang of RINOs has kept conservatives from winning seats in congress. Same with Boehner, Ryan and McCarthy. They fund RINOs and deprive conservatives. Look what Mitch did for Murkowski Alaska.

Did the RINO majorities in the senate and house repeal Obamacare? Or the Patriot Act? Or the horrible 1965 Hart-Cellar Immigration Act? Did they reduce the national debt or defund abusive government agencies like the FBI, the IRS and the FISA courts. No they didn’t. They were too busy assisting the Democrats.

I will never vote for your RINO candidates. They need to be purged.
