“Top 10 Southern Rock Songs”

Are all held by the Allman Brothers. Probably the next ten too.

Agreed.

My first concert was in Orlando in about 1978.

The opening act was Molly Hatchet. I was obsessed with “Flirtin’ With Disaster”

Good times :)

And he calls out San Francisco nauseating liberal Neil Young too. Great song. Neil should have learned not to mess with those Southern boys.....

Sweet Home Alabama...”Well, I hope Neil Young will remember a southern man don’t need him around anyhow”.

For that, you should be strapped down and forced to listen to “Muskrat Love” for 48 hours without pause!

Free Bird sux. There I said it. Had to be done. It is Southern Rock for Yankees.

As far as the best Southern rock, the album “Wipe the Windows, Check the Oil, Dollar Gas” by the Allman Brothers has all of them except for what is on “Waiting For Columbus” by Little Feat.

I’ll second your Blue Sky-— one of my favorite all-time songs, with some really beautiful/classic ABB guitar playing.

Just watched the Lynyrd Skynyrd vid— holy crap! Straight up rock and roll from an era long since passed. The shots of the audience were pure time-travel back to the ‘70’s.
