OJ Simpson Juror: Not-Guilty Verdict Was ‘Payback’ for Rodney King
The Wrap ^

Posted on 04/12/2024 4:34:33 AM PDT by Tench_Coxe

Trial watchers, sociologists and even FX’s show “People v OJ Simpson” have argued that the jurors in O.J. Simpson’s murder case acquitted him as payback for the Rodney King beating. And in ESPN’s new event series, “O.J.: Made in America,” one juror finally comes out and says it.

(snip)

Interviewer: That was payback.
Bess: Uh-huh.
Interviewer: Do you think that’s right?

At that question, she holds up her hands.

As far as the Rodney King episode, that also had the injustice of Bush Sr. stepping in and essentially violating double jeopardy, despite rationalizations to the contrary.

But at least the term "rooftop Koreans" entered the vernacular. Too bad they weren't around for the summer of 2020--those 'mostly peaceful' protests might have gotten even more peaceful.

“The fatal mistake made by the DA’s office”

The entire prosecution was a joke, and completely incompetent. Not that it matters, because this juror shows that the verdict was predetermined.

There folks are priceless to Democrat prosecutors in their eternal lawfare against Trump.I think Bragg will be importing this blue ribbon jury to Manhattan to sit on Trump’s hush money trail. And then they will move on to Fani’s Atlanta trial and then Smith’s DC J6 insurrection party trial. Big payday for these 12 morons

The networks cut the first part of the tape and looped the rest. King was struck ‘dozens’ of times.

I was almost on a jury once. We were called into a courtroom for what was gonna be a drunk driving trial. At one point the judge asked if any of us felt unqualified to serve for various reasons. Two of us raised our hands...me and another guy. That guy was called up to the judge with several lawyers gathered around.

Then I was called up and asked why I shouldn't serve. I said that I worked in a major hospital's ER *and* that my 18 year old niece had been killed by a drunk driver. Both of those things were true. Upon hearing what I had to say the judge and the lawyers all immediately shook their heads and said "no...no". I was excused.

But if I'm ever again called one thing's for sure...I won't hesitate to engage in jury nullification if the circumstances support it. For example: a hate crime trial. I'm am inalterably opposed to all "hate crime" laws. I couldn't care less if the white guy punched the black guy because he hates blacks or because he was having a bad day. Convict him for simple assault (assuming it wasn't a serious assault)...1 week in jail and a $100 fine...but not for something that can get him 10 years. If it was a serious assault he,of course, should get serious time.

Simpson was a double murderer. Everyone knew it including the Jurors.
Both were violent Murders.
Good riddance to Simpson.
May this Juror suffer the same fate as Nicole and Goldman.

Like nobody knew this from the start. Of course it was racial. Racial animosity, pure and simple. Stick it to Whitey, as the saying goes.

I don’t see this particularly as a race thing.
After all, the J6 committee knew what they were pushing was BS, and let people rot in prison without trial in the service of the BS.

The Pharisees whipped up the crowd to shout “free Barrabas”

But the interviewer could have at least been a little tougher and asked: “so you purposely let a man you knew was guilty of murder go free, as ‘payback’ for a completely unrelated event. How do you live with yourself?”

I agree with everything you said, except the race thing. I was absolutely a race thing. Non-racist people wouldn’t have abstracted something into the OJ trail, it was naked racism. IMHO, this is why they started to say afterward that minority groups “can’t be racist” because it was ugly and naked. The amount of melanin in your skin doesn’t effect the Human beings ability to be a racist, and I hold that to be self evident.

I watched The People vs OJ Simpson yesterday. A five second scene said it all. After the final juror was selected, OJ leans over to Johnny and says, if this jury finds me guilty, maybe I did do it.

We always new it was a racist act of intentional jury nullification. A murderer lucked out with OJ getting off Scott free. Not the first time. Not the last time. He now gets to face the Lord God. All of us will be held to account before the Lord for our sins. I won’t throw the first stone.

So they let a murderer go free because of something that had nothing to do with the case. That's what happened to Officer Chauvin. He was railroaded to appease the race mob. There will always be cowards who will prosecute innocent people to appease the race hustlers. Those people deserve to be thrown in prison for destroying innocent people.

Which is exactly why I serve on jury duty whenever I get the notice. If those of us with sound minds sit out knowing that it leaves only the idiots to be on juries, then it’s as much our fault as it is theirs.

“Payback” for Rodney King? He got off free after resisting a lawful arrest and leading police on a dangerous high speed chase. And the payback further fueled an orgy of black crime and resisting arrest that hurt blacks far more than whites.

I read a long time ago that the ‘jury’ didn’t deliberate a damn thing. They just sat around killing time to make it ‘look good’ and to get one more ‘free lunch’.

They were never going to convict OJ even if there was video of him doing it.

Some of them even went to Las Vegas immediately after the trial to try and cash in on their celebrity by getting ‘free stuff’ at the casinos....................

And OJ going to prison over the sports memorabilia incident was payback for his getting away with murder.

They were never going to convict OJ

Nope, this case was notorious not only because of the gruesome crime and the murderer, but because it was the highest profile case of Black Jury nullification.
