NYPD cop shot in stomach, killed by career criminal during traffic stop in Queens: sources

An NYPD officer was shot and killed by a career criminal during a traffic stop in Queens on Monday evening, according to law enforcement sources.

The 34-year-old suspect, who has 21 prior arrests, shot through the window of the vehicle while seated in a passenger seat, striking the uniformed officer in the stomach around 5:50 p.m. near 19-19 Mott Avenue in Far Rockaway, the sources said.

The bullet hit the 31-year-old officer under his police vest, sources said.

The George Floyd effect thanks media. No one thinks they need to listen to a thing a cop says nowadays. How dare a white cracker ask this thug to step out of his stolen vehicle.

People who shoot at cops, or shoot at other people, should be shot at back. I’m surprised the shooter was taken into custody. He should be taken to the hospital or the morgue. I guess cops are afraid of the political heat? They may even go to prison just for defending themselves. This is crazy policy. Especially these days the cops have body cams and the squad cars have dashcams and the city has lots of private and city run surveillance cameras. If the media wasn’t so quick to jump on a narrative and waited for the evidence, we might begin to stop some of the insanity. Don’t tell us about a guy who was shot by police, tell us about a guy who shot the police and got what he should expect for doing so.

And the same applies to terrorists.

Gotta love how the Russkies "tuned up" their terrorists, and showed the pearl-clutchers the results.

Quite a few times I thought that these bullet prove vests don’t go down far enough in front, I could be wrong as I am no expert at it.

that escapes the woke Dem voters today.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
WRONG! The woke Dem voters are the very people who are 100% responsible for the lawlessness that is rapidly tearing our country apart. That lawlessness by the way, is perpetrated every single day in all three branches of the Federal government which was weaponized against America’s peasant class beginning with the 2008 election.

I looked it up, first degree assault and it said maximum sentence, I guess he didn’t get the maximum. 3 years seems ridiculous because 1st degree assault I would assume is pretty close to attempted murder.

Perp didn’t really have anything to lose and the vest didn’t help much, either. Might as well stop bothering with traffic stops in NYC now.

"3 years seems ridiculous because 1st degree assault I would assume is pretty close to attempted murder."

That's the New York State criminal justice system for you. I retired from the prison system 20 years ago, and haven't missed the job once. I can't even imagine what it's like for uniformed staff that have had to work under Andrew Cuomo first, and now Hochul. It was bad enough when Mario Cuomo was Governor. I retired during Gov. Pataki's time in office. In the 1990's Pataki introduced a Three Strikes Law for violent offenders. The statute called for third-time violent-felony offenders to face a minimum prison term of 15 years to life, a sentence often far beyond the previous normal maximum. In 2010, the law was deemed, in part, to be unconstitutional by a federal court, which found that it violated the Sixth Amendment guarantee of a trial by jury. The court found that the law allowed judges, not jurors, to determine sentencing facts.

NYPD gleefully enforced lockdowns, mask and vaccine mandates. I have zero sympathy when one of them is killed. My condolences to the already overworked medical examiner.

I thought all that “Lawlessness and Chaos” was done away with by the Democrats back in 1968!

“Today we begin to disarm the criminal and the careless and the insane. All of our people who are deeply concerned in this country about law and order should hail this day.”-— Lyndon Johnson signing the 1968 gun control act into law.

And Thomas J. Dodd, who wrote the 1968 gun control act using the 1938 Nazi weapons law as a pattern...

“No one can predict how many lives will be spared because of this bill, but, if the bloody record of our yesterdays is any measure, millions of future Americans will live to enjoy the promise of many peaceful tomorrows.

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to play a part in this great moment in our time.”— Thomas J. Dodd on passage of the 1968 Gun control act.

Why aren’t the people who so callously let this guy out — time and time again — held responsible for their abject failure to do their job — and fail multiple times to do their job?
