Two moms from Kentucky are speaking out after they were drugged and raped in the Bahamas after the US issued a travel warning for the vacation hotspot.
Longtime friends Amber Shearer and Dongayla Dobson said their first kid-free vacation ended with a traumatic, broad-daylight assault when they decided to go to the beach after the Carnival cruise ship they were on docked at the island country.
Now they’re warning other women. The moms were relaxing on a Grand Bahama beach when a resort staffer offered them a two-for-one drink deal

they soon felt like the drinks were much stronger than expected. Even their loved ones back home grew concerned when the women sent back videos where they seemed to be highly intoxicated just 15 minutes after their first sips, .

They went to look for seashells to bring back to their kids when a male resort staffer offered to show them the best spot to find shells.
But the next thing Shearer could recall was waking up while she was being assaulted by a uniformed male resort staffer.

Back on the cruise ship, the moms received the results of their toxicology tests — which showed they had a plethora of drugs in their systems, including benzodiazepines.

Im blaming them for being unwise and believing the rest of the world is just like Middle America. That’s what happens in the third world. Those in the Third World are obviously responsible for their acts, so it is up to those who are not part of that world to protect themselves. Those in the Third World WILL kill you, or rob you, or rape you, if they can get away with it.
This is a 100% certainty. So, since it is a 100% certainty that those in the Third World will harm you, if they can get away with it, do you not share some responsibility for what befalls you if you decide to go any way?
Their sins was to assume that every place is like Middle America. They are guilty of being naive. This is very common in suburbia America.
I wonder if it was Paradise Island? We stayed there the first year they were open and the pool area would fill up with cruise ship passengers.

I disagree. They committed no sin nor were they nieve. To say either is to blame the victims for being raped.
They signed up and paid very good money for a cruise/vacation. Vacations are to rest your worries, especially cruises. The assumption that all stops are vetted to be safe, else the ship wouldn’t go to that location.

They were attractive women, with no male escorts and no other means of protection and they drank from a drink that was prepared onsite and wasn’t sealed by a corporation and they expected everything to be fine.
That’s being naive and they paid for it.
The rest of the world is nothing like suburban America. If you are traveling internationally, you cannot expect safety.

I don’t trust anybody in the Third World. To be fair, they were at a resort so they should have been safer. But they made a mistake of not watching their drinks being made. If I were to attend a resort, Id want to see my drinks being made in front of me. If my drink disappears, I wouldnt drink it.
Outside of Western society, you can’t trusr anybody. People have disappeared on Cruise ships, presumably pushed overboard.
