Americans are in love with sketchy, unregulated supplements — here are 6 that actually work

Americans may love to eat junk, but we’re nearly as passionate about doing penance, with more than half of us scarfing down dietary supplements on a regular basis.

From herbal remedies to energy boosters, vitamins and weight-loss pills, supplements form a massive global industry — one that’s expected to reach $200 billion in value by 2025, according to the AMA Journal of Ethics.

Trouble is, it’s a largely “Wild West” scene — and that’s by design, believe it or not. The Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 limits the ability of the Food and Drug Administration to regulate products marketed as dietary supplements.

By hobbling the FDA, manufacturers are able to sell their modern-day potions and miracle cures without any evidence of their potency, safety or effectiveness.

Highly recommend this for joint aches. I had a very achy shoulder, very painful when lifting my arm above my head. It was progressively getting worst over a 12 month period. I started on this triple joint formula, 2 pills a day for the first six months, now just one. I have been pain free going on two years. Both Costco and Sams have their own version, same ingredients and strength.

I obtained some Super K which has K1 and K2, after also taking D3 + K2 for years. Maybe the extra K[1,2] will help. Thanks for the recommendation.

I credit Nattokinase for saving my life 5 years ago and don’t want the extra K to interfere with Nattokinase.

Serrapeptase may thin my blood too much so I’m avoiding it for now.

I aslo started taking sanchi and dansen (herbs), along with something called SoftenClean. I don’t want stents if I can avoid them.

Some good news is the tingling/numbness has started to fade in my hands and feet. Time will tell. Thanks again for the suggestions.
