Intruder in the Dust is a good movie. 1951.
The people who believe in the alternative energy source called Solar Power must be racist according to Disney’s logic?
That song “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” sings about “plenty of sunshine”. So, using Woke logic when someone thinks about Solar Power they are thinking about the “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” song and thus the “Song of the South” production and thus racism. That’s Woke logic.
‘Iger is assuming that black people can’t understand or handle their own history.’
and he would be right; blacks can’t handle their history because they are eager and willing to be told they can’t...
the soft (or not so soft) bigotry of lowered expectations...
I’d never seen the movie, I found a DVD (iffy quality) at a thrift store for $3 and brought it home. As Disney movies go, it was pretty much as Disney movies go, and it’s ‘offensive’ in the same way some of Shirley Temple’s movies are ‘offensive’. Glad I have an archival copy of sorts, when Bradbury’s firemen squad raids the house they’ll probably just burn the whole place to the ground anyway. :^)
More broadly, Disney is committing suicide.

While Disney stock has taken a beating, and ditto for public relations, the company is not losing money hand over fist.
From a fairly well situated insider I was told that Disney World would be profitable with 15% attendance. Which tells you something about what they charge for everything, not just admission.
I also got a fairly interesting perspective on why Eiger came back on board.
I’m surprised it took them this long. It’s not surprising and his epidemic across all theme parks.
Several years ago, Six Flags Texas theme parks got rid of the distinctive six flags of its identity because one was the Confederate flag, which once flew over Texas. There are now six non-descript placeholder flags instead.
