Vampires were never really a thing... What was really a thing and it happened a lot, was burying people alive. It happened because people in the 19th and earlier centuries had no concept of what a coma was. It you didn’t awake after a day or so, they just buried you.
It doesn’t take much of an imagination to guess at what happens next... People digging themselves out of shallow graves and magically coming back to life. That wasn’t the sort of ‘magic’ people were looking for. They likely killed these living dead walkers on site and then reburied them with precautions.

As someone once said, “Killing a guy by driving a stake through his heart works pretty good, even if the guy isn’t actually a vampire!”

The great thing about female vampires is their fashion sense.

One of the earliest vampiric depictions stems from cuneiform texts by the Akkadians, Samarians, Assyrians and Babylonians, where they referred to demonic figures such as the Lilu and Lilitu.

Today, they’re referred to as “the undead” or Democrat voters.

Do you think vampires have bad breath? I mean, you’d think that would be enough for the Wimmins to avoid them …

I find the lore behind these burials to be fascinating. Sadly, much like the witch trials, I’ll bet most of these people were innocent of any kind of crime.

Archaeologists found the burial near Bydgoszcz, a city in northern Poland. An anthropological study revealed that she had protruding front teeth, suggesting that her appearance may have led superstitious locals in the 17th century to brand her a witch or vampire. Hmmm...:
