EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more
Yow! Sounds like they nailed it though...
In sympathy? No. Swiping body heat.
Took over the middle half, left me enough sheets to come up to mid chest, I couldn’t extract more from under his lard butt.
He did manage to keep shoving his paws under me.
Bloody pillow, bloody sheets. Bloody spit after salt water swish. All normal. I don’t seem to have anymore grits of someone else’s bone surfacing. hurts a little. no med since last night. Well on my way to healing.
Ariel Phenomenon?
Or as Ratboy said ‘It’s always a good day when you aren’t picking bits of cadaver out of your teeth...’
Back from the physical therapist. Unnngh.
w00t! And on the twosie.
Good job!!
Mine was just a case of, “Oh. This word looks like it will fit!” And it did!
And I’m back from the pain clinic. Unngh, is right.
The results of my MRI are: four bulging discs (one of which has already been repaired) and severe spinal stenosis. Yeah. I get it. Nothing can be done except what’s already being done.
Somehow, putting a name on it is more depressing than just “knowing.”
Hopefully all of that hard work will pay dividends soon...
Praying that you will get some relief in some way...
I dunno. He’s like his mom — action movies, and the more intense the action, the better!
I always keep a package of absorbent bed pads on hand, because one never knows when one might need to put them on a pillow. It’s not fun listening to them crinkle all night, but it’s better than washing bedding.
Silly dog. He’s so lucky to have found you!!
I’m sure there must be a retail place to get Chucks locally, I just haven’t found it.
If I can’t find them locally, I check eBay, Amazon and Walmart online, usually in that order. But with eBay, you can seldom get anything in a hurry.
Thanks!
I’ve been on morphine for about 13 years, and that’s about the best they can do for me. It doesn’t affect me like it does most people, in that I can’t take it at night because it will keep me awake.
So I just try to live according to what produces the least amount of pain. Some things just take a lot longer to do than others. ;o]
Good job!
Happy Hmpf Day!
Yeah, 80 today and 50 by Sunday. Mood swings is right!
Thank you, I am doing much better than I was 8 weeks ago. It just wears me out!
It sounds like you’re having a very interesting time. Dentistry?
Unnngh.
I’m helping to arrange an international festival at my church on December 10. It’s for Our Lady of Guadalupe, which is a big celebration for Latin Americans, but we want to include other cultures this year, “even people from Long Island!”
A lady called me this morning and said she was born in Hawai’i, and she will bring some Hawai’ian-style food and decorations and wear a muumuu. I asked if she wanted to hula, and she said she hadn’t done it in a long time, the music she knew was on cassette tapes, etc. I suggested that DP could play a song for her on guitar and ukulele, and she told me the name of a song that her father used to play for her to dance ... and isn’t it right there on Youtube, in guitar, steel guitar, and ukulele versions, and lyrics, too, so I could sing!

And she lives on a farm over east of here and has some work for various teenbros with time on their hands and needing some income. And Tom could drive the pickup truck if needed.
Oral surgery, bone grafts.
