Spending 5nights in Pittsburgh. Looking for things to do
The cliche things:
Ride the Incline/Mt Washington overlook
Dinner on Mt Washington (several restaurants with views of the city)
Pengin’s Game if they are playing at home while you are here.
Hit the Strip District. Retail District, original Primanti’s Brothers is located here as well.
Eat at Primanti Brothers
Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural history.
Warhal Museum. If you like him.
Ride the Gateway Clipper (have sight seeing and dinner cruises)
Carngie Science Center visit if you have kids as well, the Miniature train display is great.
Visit the Casino if you are into that sort of thing.
See a show in the cultural district.
Go to the Zoo
Other things:
Vincent’s Pizza Park in Forest Hills (not likely to be the best pizza you ever had, but a distinct pie to be sure)
Randyland - not my cup of tea, but definitely something different.
If you have younger kids, stop at SW Randalls... Toy Store, there is one downtown and one in Squirrel Hill.
Try Mineo’s and Aeillo’s Pizza, 2 pizza shops in squirrel hill that are a block away from each other. Mineo’s is more known outside of Pittsburgh, but the “rivalry” is a classic for locals.
If you have young children, if weather is nice take them to the “Blue Slide Park” in Frick Park. (Google Maps will get you there).
The Trolley Museum is worth a visit, they have operating street cars you can ride, etc.. but I don’t think they will be open yet for the year when you are here though, but can check.

Sunday Brunch at the Grand Concourse
Visit the West End Overlook
Bike the “Great Allegheny Passage”, bike rental place right downtown beside the trail.
Oh and as others suggested, and I forgot
Phipps Conservatory
And the National Aviary as well.
don’t go to Monroeville Mall after dark or on Fri/Sat/Sun.
such a shame the Syria mosque in Oakland is gone, saw genesis there, the original line up, great concert venue.

ohiopyle state park is not far and there are 2 famous frank lloyd wright houses there.. falling waters and kentuck knob.

Duquesne Incline up to Mount Washington, have dinner at Monterey Bay Fish Grotto, nice view of the city (if it’s a clear day)
The Carnegie Museum of Natural History is great. The Carnegie Science Center is pretty good too, though it’s more geared toward kids. The National Aviary is nice.
Check out the Strip District, but avoid peak hours or it’s just frustrating. Our favorite restaurants on the Strip are Pamela’s Diner (breakfast/brunch), Cafe Raymond (brunch/lunch), and Penn Ave Fish Co (lunch/dinner).
Catch a Penguins hockey game, always a good time.
Walk around Point State Park / Fort Duquesne...this is the start of the Ohio River (formed by the Monongahela and Allegheny). Catch a Gateway Clipper tour if you can.
That would be because I95 runs through Philly, not Pittsburgh.

Do mix up Philadelphia with the ‘burgh.
Yes it was the pitts burg even way back then. We were driving a new 78 plain jane Ford crown Vic with a great long 2 way antenna on the rear bumper.
What a fun trip.
Make that the other way around all those p cities have me confused it was philly sorry

Be patient when you have to drive their pathetic road system.
Kennywood
Avoid the Frick Park bridge.
