Two space scholars have warned that astronauts may turn to cannibalism if humans do not prepare enough for the rigors of colonizing outer space.
Dr. Cameron Smith, a co-founder of Pacific Spaceflight, agreed that it will prove vital to “establish a really good farming system and put in a lot of stored food.”
The professors argued for different target locations for such colonies, with Cockell electing for moons around Jupiter and Saturn and Smith suggesting that the asteroid belt might provide the best potential.

If Moon Based human colonies ever become an actual event, vs a debate, it would take a very specific, very uncommon kind of person to qualify for that duty. They would need to be smart enough to absorb all the training, but virtually devoid of ego, ambition and optimism other than getting their one job done.
They would need to be the kind of person for whom family life holds no great importance. But if someone doesn’t care about his family, he usually doesn’t care much about teamwork or cooperation either.
Experts in space colonization?

This is just ludicrous the number of “experts “ we have floating around, pontificating about stuff nobody ever had experience with before. But suddenly, “experts say”……
Then suggest sending michael moore.
So stupid. People may do this in a survival situation here on earth. And they have. Dumb.
They just need to develop an artificial organ that can process used ATP into fresh ATP.
Then all the energy can be provided via solar panel/nuke etc...
The only food needed would be water and vitamins/minerals and a few other nutrients not part of the ATP cycle.
