Vanity/Vent- Vaccine mandate at job… what to do??
VANITY | 12/21/2021 | Me

Posted on 12/21/2021 7:54:02 AM PST by ObozoMustGo2012

Preface: I am not looking for medical advice or help in decision making. Just venting and hoping to get an idea of how other folks in my situation are making out or how they are preparing.

So… my job has a strict vaccine mandate that is set to start Jan 4th. Basically, if I don’t load my card into the HR system which collects these, I will be fired from my job on Jan 5th… no severance. My religious exemption, originally approved at first, was ultimately denied, and they are not allowing exemptions for remote workers (like me), nor periodic testing in lieu of an injection. Despite numerous back and forth emails with HR, they are sticking to their guns (or needles) with this directive.

I was at first dead set on not getting it for the same reasons and fears that everyone else has. I was hoping that the various court challenges, etc. would put a pause on it until I found a better job, but that didn’t happen.

I would normally welcome the idea of time off (especially while living in Florida), however, IF i did find a job, I would take a significant cut in pay. Also (and most importantly) personal insurance would be too expensive per month (Thanks Obama). I have some orthopedic issues I need to have addressed in the coming year and cantt afford the premiums or deductibles on an individual Florida Blue plan.

I just moved to Florida (working from my mother’s house, job HQ in NJ) and need to afford buying a condo (housing prices are through the roof). I won’t be able to finance if I don’t have a job, and I worry I wouldn’t be able to afford monthly HOA/condo fees and taxes if I pay cash.

I am between a rock and a hard place. At this point, I am debating just getting the J&J/Janssen one and done, as the risk of side effects (as a mid-40s male) seems the least compared to the mRNA ones, and it’s more like a traditional “vaccine” compared to the gene therapy of the others.

Anyone else gone through or facing a similar situation/decision? How did you/are you managing through it and making ends meet? I am not so much worried about a salary as I am the insurance coverage (once again, thanks Obama!).

The employer must weigh what it will cost them to piss off employees by FORCING them to do something they do not want/need to do, VS good employees leaving because they have lost respect for the company.

Isn’t it a PROVEN fact that the shots and boosters canNOT protect the protected from the unprotected?

The temptation to just lie through my teeth to get them off my back is growing.

Don't.

Put it back across the net by asking:

Why are you afraid that the shots YOU got are proving to be INEFFECTIVE?

Uncle Billy; do you want to join the class action suit against Pfizzer/Modesta etal for not producing a treatment that can PROTECT you?

Reason has no effect. Nor do scientific studies.

What's left?

EMOTION!

Get THEM scared - just not of you!

Frankly, and I am a father of 4 dependents, not the sword to die on.

Then you'd better pray that you do NOT die from side effects!

Remember the old days when you could buy flight insurance in the airport terminals?

Show me one healthy person in your county that died from a vaccine.

Why does it have to be MY county?

Yes, I don’t argue with that. It seems the employer in this case has decided what they are going to do. The OP needs to decide for him/her self what is best for him/her.

It may be a great job. Maybe even a dream job. But in the end it’s just a job. I was not a fan of the replies that said “quit and go somewhere else” though I understand the sentiment. It’s just a job. Life will always deliver us unexpected twists and turns. They sometimes feel abusive. I’m going through acrimony myself at the moment, and need to keep reminding myself this too shall end. If the OP does well, does what he/she thinks is right, and is diligent about his/her future then the OP will land on the feet and possibly end up in a much better position down the line.

I’d say to the OP, is this the job you dreamed of? If not, maybe don’t worry too much about the salary and use this as an opportunity to find the career he/she wants.

As far as Covid goes, I’d wager a small number of dollars against donuts that by April/May of 2022 this covid thing will be over. So the OP needs to think a little about how things will shake out in the short-medium term. Maybe it’s a giant nothing burger and in a few months the employer will hire him/her back. Anyway, it’s a job now and the OP has a duty to do the best work possible. It can only help whatever eventuality comes to pass.

Well, yes, but that doesn’t stop the dictator wannabes whose only real concern is their grip on power and control, and NOT your health.

As a mid-40 male, take the j&j and be done. You’ll have a near zero risk of any serious complication (better than 1 in 250,000) and you’ll have added immunity against a disease that has killed and maimed people far healthier than you.

Just another bullshit statement by you......Really why are you here....on FREEREPUBLIC...???

Because anyone can find an example of a person in Timbuktu allegedly harmed by a vaccine. Much, much harder to find a real case close to home.

I’m sure it would take you takes 2 minutes to find hundreds of deaths from covid in your county. But the question is can you find proof of a reasonably healthy person dying from the vaccine? No, you cannot. Have the fortitude to admit it. Makes a person wonder if they’ve been fed a pack of lies here when it comes to vaccine safety. But I’ll give you a second chance: show me evidence of one healthy person in your state that died from a vaccine. Even that will be difficult, but not impossible, because while the vaccines have lots of side effects, risk of death is still exceedingly low.

But people won’t believe it, even when they bother to look in vain for real local evidence. Memes of “clot shot” are a hoot. Proving it, nah, no thanks.

the J&J/Janssen one and done, as the risk of side effects (as a mid-40s male) seems the least compared to the mRNA ones, and it’s more like a traditional “vaccine” compared to the gene therapy of the others.

JnJ does the exact same thing as the mRNA "vaccines". It just starts differnetly - JnJ is DNA contained by an adenovirus. So the virus gets into your cells and drops off the DNA. The DNA then integrates into your cells, and tells the cell to make mRNA. At this point, JnJ is doing the same thing as Pfizer/Moderna: this mRNA then tells your cells to produce the spike proteins, which then trains your immune system to destroy your cells that are expressing the spikes.

And just like Pf/M, JnJ has no turn-off functionality, no control over how much it does to your body or how little. Same amount known on actual side effects and what other consequences it has. Same amount of long-term testing completed (none). And so on.

But the question is can you find proof of a reasonably healthy person dying from the vaccine?

1. If 'proof' were somehow available, just how would I get access to it?

2. What 'proof' would be acceptable to you?

To paraphrase Stalin:

It mattereth not who dies from a covid shot, but who REPORTS about that death.

You are wanting 'proof' when the very means of discerning it are NOT available to the average person.

My termination day from a beltway Defense contractor is 4 Jan also. My plan is to live off of savings and use COBRA for health care until everything gets through the courts or Congress/Presidency changes parties. I can also access my 401k starting in June when I am 59 1/2. I really believe that the courts will overturn this ludicrous mandate, and I will either be asked to return to work, or I will have found another job. I am thinking about starting my own company and contracting myself out. Idk. I am in IT, and there’s always opportunity there if you want it. I am in FL too, and I believe a bill was signed that you can get unemployment if you are terminated for not getting the jab. You should also be aware of the recent bill that was passed saying Florida employees must be given a non-vax choice or the company will be fined. You work in FL, so you should be covered. However your company must know that you have changed residences permanently because state taxes are involved. If you moved and didn’t inform your employer then you may not be protected.

I think my company if 30k people will just shrug at the fine, but who knows. Best of luck to you. Try not to stress and be kind to yourself whatever you decide. There are no perfect options.

I worked under contract in a different state system. I’ve been retired for a few years now, so I don’t recall all the details of the “contract” or the rules for termination. But generally they couldn’t just terminate me on the spot unless it was for a gross disciplinary violation. If they didn’t like my performance they had to justify it with a bad performance report and not renew the contract. The same went for lack of funding. Also, I wasn’t eligible for UI if the contract expired.
