My criticism of EV has always been about the practicality of the tech. Not that EV can’t serve in neche applications.

This is a novelty, not the same as the advantages that gas can give you in terms of reliability, affordability, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Gas engines are very reliable when maintained and can be serviced just about anywhere. They work in all weather conditions. They are way more cost effective in both materials and production. They are very efficient in getting you from point A to B with little problems.

Given the points above they’re still better than electric at this point.

...and you easily can carry a full jerry can with you; much harder to carry a spare 5 gallons of electrons!

Today that is true; a moving target.

And the TCO on some is currently slightly ahead of ICE.

The best EVs have a battery capacity of 100 kWh when new. One gallon of gasoline has 33.7 kWh. So you have a vehicle that has the equivalent of a three gallon gas tank that takes 10 hours to fill. This leaves out where the electricity comes from and where do the batteries come from and the fact that the USA transportation sector uses about 11 time as much energy as the total output of all the nuclear plants in the USA. Wind energy is bulls...

So coal is about all that’s left it takes about a pound of coal to generate one kWh so 100 lb of coal to charge one EV once. Burning 100 lb of coal produces 367 lb of carbon dioxide. Not that CO2 is bad it’s just I that I want to point out the hypocrisy of the greenies. Burning 3 gal of gas produces 71 lb of CO2.

EVs are a total scam and a way to reduce the mobility of the peasants.

EVs might be better one day but they're not there yet.
