The best EVs have a battery capacity of 100 kWh when new. One gallon of gasoline has 33.7 kWh. So you have a vehicle that has the equivalent of a three gallon gas tank that takes 10 hours to fill. This leaves out where the electricity comes from and where do the batteries come from and the fact that the USA transportation sector uses about 11 time as much energy as the total output of all the nuclear plants in the USA. Wind energy is bulls...

So coal is about all that’s left it takes about a pound of coal to generate one kWh so 100 lb of coal to charge one EV once. Burning 100 lb of coal produces 367 lb of carbon dioxide. Not that CO2 is bad it’s just I that I want to point out the hypocrisy of the greenies. Burning 3 gal of gas produces 71 lb of CO2.

EVs are a total scam and a way to reduce the mobility of the peasants.

“In combined cycle power plants (CCPP) a gas turbine generator generates electricity while the waste heat from the gas turbine is used to produce steam to generate additional electricity via a steam turbine. Siemens has a wide portfolio of cost competitive, high performance, operationally flexible and easily constructible steam turbines to meet the diverse needs of customers. The exhaust heat of the gas turbine is utilized to generate steam by passing it through a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG), so it can be used to drive the steam turbine. This combination of two power generation cycles enhances the efficiency of the plant. Combined cycle power plants equipped with the latest Siemens technology achieve unprecedented efficiency levels of more than 60 percent.”

An internal combustion engine (ICE) is about 10% efficient.

The modern generation of electric power is about six times more energy efficient than the car’s ICE.

The loss of electrical energy via transmission, the battery and the electric motor might be around 20%, so 6*(1-.2) makes electric cars about 4.8 times more energy efficient than ICE cars.

Perfect post. Why are people so concerned about wanting an electric vehicle? The propaganda makes them want it. The math certainly can’t.
