Tucker Carlson draws in more viewers than highly anticipated Game 4 Lakers-Nuggets matchup

This week's Thursday night episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News pulled in more viewers than the highly anticipated Game 4 NBA match between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets.

That game drew 4.6 million viewers, while Carlson's show brought in 140,000 more than that.

The comparatively low numbers continue a trend of plummeting viewership in the NBA, the numbers of which are down roughly 40% since the 2018 season and 27% from last year.

Some commentators have blamed that drop on the League's increasing politicization, particularly beginning in mid-2020 as more and more players began coming out publicly in favor of Black Lives Matter-style politics.

Many NBA players, meanwhile, have taken to kneeling during pre-game National Anthem ceremonies as a sign of solidarity with protesters and activists around the country.

Anticipated?

Everybody knows the fix is in, and the NBA is gifting Lord LeBron a title.

I didn’t know they were playing games. Now I have to care even less than I did before.

Yeah, but most were watching the WNBA finals I’ll bet. I read somewhere that they were being played.

My high school basketball games were better than the NBA....When you had players like Pat Riley and other high school all Americans

He was probably a better football player...but he liked basketball better

It’s simple folks.....Sports & Politics not mix ever!!! Black Sports Stars are doing exactly the same thing as millions of African-Americans have done for years & years & years....letting themselves be fooled, abused, used and forced to live in Black, Slave Plantations by Democrats like Obama & Biden, who have done “Zero” to provide equality and opportunity for African-Americans!!!

Blacks,Following fools and buffoons like LeBron James is a total lost cause...period...Wise up...American Blacks get with the Trump program...it’s the only way to go!!!

American basketball peaked with the Dream Team (There was only one as far as I’m concerned), a few good guys like Shaq in the 90s, and from there I really have no idea who won a championship after 1996.

The NBA is no different than watching convicts in Alcatraz prison fighting over an inflated ball.

SAME EXACT THING!

Mark Cuban still spinning.

More people watched @TuckerCarlson head-to-head than watched Lakers-Nuggets. So far every NBA playoff game has rated lower than the Michael Jordan-Bulls documentary. This is an epic viewing collapse never seen in one year before in sports: https://t.co/m2rVz6Z6Y0— Clay Travis (@ClayTravis) September 25, 2020

Hey Clay, I won't try to educate you on ratings. We have the audience our advertisers want. But I do want to know what the AQH is for your radio show . If ratings are so important to you, let us know your actual ratings and why Fox Sports Radio doesn't publish them for the public https://t.co/2KqwGy712w— Mark Cuban (@mcuban) September 26, 2020

Thanks for giving me a chance to share our audience, Mark. August was @outkick’s best month ever across web, video, & radio. Love to have you on to discuss the NBA’s 40% ratings collapse this year & why you won’t support human rights in China. Let me know when works for you. https://t.co/cV2cMAjH8e pic.twitter.com/2vGhbyooUn— Clay Travis (@ClayTravis) September 26, 2020

Thing is Clay, self reported "ratings" aren't ratings at all. But it is interesting that you want to include online media to suggest success for you, but not the NBA. I'll ask again. What is your AQH for your radio show? Why would I come on if no one is listening ? https://t.co/bJcgKyhpfz— Mark Cuban (@mcuban) September 26, 2020

Mark, millions of people listen to our show every month. I just provided you the metrics, hundreds of thousands every day on 300+ stations in all 50 states. Your NBA ratings are at a forty year low. Bigger question: why won’t you say you support democracy & human rights in China? https://t.co/eZFU4I36Zb— Clay Travis (@ClayTravis) September 26, 2020

Cume is total viewership. AQH is a specific 15 minute segment. Digital tends to be measured on a cume basis, TV and radio on average viewership over the length of a broadcast. Tight games peak late in rating, blow outs peak early. The NBA is tanking on all of these metrics.— Clay Travis (@ClayTravis) September 26, 2020

The Warriors under Mark Jackson were fun to watch. Jackson went to church with the players and the team had great chemistry.

The Warrior's gay GM fired, then blackballed Jackson and trashed team chemistry. Their Cinderella story didn't hold up with the preachy owners and selfish players.
