A car drove onto a closed freeway early Saturday and struck two people in a crowd protesting against police brutality, killing one and critically injuring the other, authorities said.
Summer Taylor, 24, of Seattle died in the evening at Harborview Medical Center, spokesperson Susan Gregg said.

Dawit Kelete of Seattle drove the car around vehicles that were blocking I-5 and sped into the crowd about 1:40 a.m., according to a police report released by the Washington State Patrol. Video taken at the scene by protesters showed people shouting “Car! Car!” before fleeing the roadway.
Love is in serious condition in the intensive care unit, Harborview, Gregg said.
Love was filming the protest in a nearly two-hour-long Facebook livestream captioned “Black Femme March takes I-5” when the video ended abruptly; with about 15 seconds left, shouts of “Car!” can be heard as the camera starts to shake before screeching tires and the sound of impact are heard.

The driver, who was alone, fled the scene after hitting the protesters, Trooper Chase Van Cleave told The Associated Press. One of the other protesters got in a car and chased the driver for about a mile. He was able to stop him by pulling his car in front of the Jaguar, Van Cleave said.
Troopers arrived, and the driver was put in custody, Washington State Patrol Capt. Ron Mead said.
Kelete was described by offices as reserved and sullen when he was arrested, according to court documents. He also asked if the pedestrians were OK, the documents say.

After a month of nonstop protests and criminality, I feel nothing for these people.

The freeway wasn’t closed. It was being blocked by random cars and stupid people. “Closed “ means highway patrol with lights flashing, orange traffic cones, large signs flashing warning of change/detour/danger ahead. Stupid people in the middle of the road brought this on themselves. I’m sad for the driver involved, and even sadder that stupidity kills.
The corrupt MSM quickly identified the automobile as WHITE. Said nothing about the driver.

I just look at these juveniles (one was 24 and the other 32), and their mindset. The whole thing is like being a part of some cult and thinking that your death will matter in some way as you are a martyr.

Let’s see. Leftists were criminally blocking an Interstate. The police were sitting on their hands scared to do anything about the criminal activity and perfectly content to let the criminal activity transpire right in front of them. Leftist then gets killed by car.
The black driver needs someone like me on his jury. I simply do not care at this point whether the black driver did anything wrong or not.
To me, this is like two people performing armed robbery of a convenience store and one of the perps is ventilated by the store owner. The other perp is charged with murder in addition to armed robbery. You could tell me the store owner violated some law about possessing a gun in the store, but that is not justice and I would nullify any wrong by the store owner.
If there was really a police department and prosecutor, they would arrest the riot organizer and charge that person with murder.
