Nine out of 11 Confederate statues Pelosi is attempting to remove from Capitol were Democrats
Washington Examiner ^ | 6/13/20 | Andrew Mark Miller

Nine out of the 11 people whose statues House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is trying to remove from the U.S. Capitol shared her political party.

Pelosi called for the removal of 11 statues from the U.S. Capitol this week, citing concerns about the racist past of the figures depicted. Nine of them were Democrats, and the other two didn’t belong to a political party, according to Just the News.

The Democrats include Confederate President Jefferson Davis, who was once a U.S. senator from Mississippi; Mississippi Sen. James Zachariah George; Confederate Lt. Gen. Wade Hampton; and Confederate Gen. Edmund Kirby Smith.

“The halls of Congress are the very heart of our democracy,” Pelosi said in a letter requesting the removal of the statues. “The statues in the Capitol should embody our highest ideals as Americans, expressing who we are and who we aspire to be as a nation. Monuments to men who advocated cruelty and barbarism to achieve such a plainly racist end are a grotesque affront to these ideals. Their statues pay homage to hate, not heritage. They must be removed.”

I doubt there is a statue you could put up that wouldn’t offend anyone which seems to be the standard we are going by. If this person hurt your feelings than you’re allowed to tear it down.

That is a kleagle standing there with Pelosi. That means he was a PAID OFFICER in the KKK. He got paid for each person he got to join the klams. This was at a time when the klams were lynching people. KILLING people for the crime of participating in America,

What THIS means to me is, IF sheets himself never participated in a killing, someone he signed on almost surely did.

The Democrats need to erase their history quick. That is why no attention is being focused on the true history of Democrats. They just like the Obamacare architects know the black community will accept most of the BS they are told.

I think the article should have read “at least 9 of the 11”.
The remaining two appear to be Edmund Kirby Smith and Robert E. Lee. I doubt either was a Republican.

There is no more lasting monument to racism in America than the democrat party.

Statues did not hang black Americans, prevent blacks from voting, keep blacks in lousy segregated schools, or assault black babies in the womb — democrats (KKK) did.

I would like for our governor to propose putting the Rose Law Firm founders statue on the grounds of the Clinton Library for posterity’s sake.

“The entire essence of the Left’s strategy advances a relentless, hate-filled narrative that Trump and America is irredeemably evil and must be destroyed as soon as possible.”

Pelosi embodies the following......“We must be ready to employ trickery, deceit, law-breaking, withholding and concealing truth… We can and must write in a language which sows among the masses hate, revulsion, and scorn toward those who disagree with us”.....Vladimir Lenin

This line if argument to shame Dems is weak. The modern Democrat Party is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum as far as government power is concerned. The only thing they share in common is a condescending paternalism towards blacks. No contemporary Dem. is gonna be fazed by the “Yeah but Confederates were Democrats” line.

The Democrats are obsessed with rewriting history but still refuse to even acknowledge the sordid, hateful and cruel institutions of their own antecedents. Why should the Democrats be the only ones allowed to escape being held accountable for their historical transgressions?

The Democrat party’s history of supporting racism, slavery and Jim Crow laws means the Democrat party must change their name.... My suggestions, Liberals, Socialist or just plain Communist party.... Any of these would be suitable, but Antifa party is also rather appealing.
