Tipping 50% on food when we decide to do takeout. I want to support the local independent restaurants. They are good people, some I know personally, that are working their tails off to stay afloat.

More seriously, I don't think I'll be getting the full $1200, and the part I expect to get pretty well matches what I would otherwise owe in April 2021, so I'll send it back as an estimated payment. Part is just to be contrary and do the exact opposite of what the government wants us to do and part because it is relatively painless because it is "found" money rather than something I feel is mine.
And after two or three weeks of going to the IRS website and having them tell me “Status Not Available”, they finally allowed me to enter my bank account info yesterday so I won't have to wait for a paper check. The past few years I owed money so they didn't have my direct deposit info.
“But I am sure my grandkids won’t mind their diminished quality of life to support your government check.”
Meh, by then the dollar will be as dead as a Wiemar Mark or a Zimbabwe dollar. There will be a whole new currency by then...

I did not get $1200. It was a lot less. I didn’t need it so I sent an extra charitable donation to a local children’s hospital which I regularly support.

Not sure. My husband has always had Acers and likes them. guess they are still made. I may hold off on mine, though. He needs one for a class that meets online to Zoom. Mine is just slow.
In theory the plan was to split the money 1/2 way. He has donated some and has $960 left. Looks like the tire money will come from elsewhere...not my half. LOL

Why not? Illegals get our money every year- Our government sends Terrorist nations billions of our money every year- Our govenrment gives places like planned parenthood and PBS etc billions of our money too- about time legal citizens got some of our own money back during hard times-
