Coast Guard Tells Cruise Ships With COVID-19 Cases To Stay Away From U.S. Ports
Foreign-flagged ships are the norm in the cruise industry. By registering ships in the Bahamas, Panama and other countries, cruise companies can avoid U.S. taxes as well as employment and environmental laws. Now the Coast Guard is telling those companies that their ships should seek medical care in the countries where they are registered, rather than rely on the U.S.
Not our ships. Not our problem.
Just filled with dumb US citizens and Trump is saying he’s going to bring them here because it’s right for humanity.
Hear Costco is going to limit amount of customers inside store.
Awww....that’s a good FedEx story.
Lucky IS lucky :-)
Good news, on the infected ship/s.
I don’t, merely enough for quarantine if the health department calls. Fortunately, it’s mostly fun food (spaghetti-O’s, baked beans, ice cream). I’ll just clean my groceries as best I can when I get home, or as I use them. I quarantine some of them for 3 days, allowing any COVID to die, before using them.
In technical terminology, I’m screwed.
I’m not fleeing because I could be one of the asymptomatic 25% (if not now, then maybe soon), so why would I wish to introduce it to a nearby town at this time, when my own town is quite possibly already hot and I take precautions (buying anything that I touch, even accidentally, at the store, etc.).
That’s a good system, that your local butcher has.
I (thankfully) stocked up on a LOT of steaks, back in January. And, ground beef.
I vacuum packed all of it...so, it should last over a year, at least.
Hubby ice packs the flounder and trout he catches, so that should last a while, too.
I am going to check w/our local butcher, though, and recommend those safe practices....just in case we need more steaks!!! :-)
I had stinging red eyes some time ago, but discovered that the condition was apparently caused by hand sanitizer (irony!) and a certain kind of hand lotion that I was using.
Renowned Boston City Hall architect Michael McKinnell dies from covid after refusing a ventilator
I tried to ship an order of Spaghetti-Os to our youngest.
It was a Walmart order, that I placed almost 2 weeks ago, and, was about the only canned goods they still had available.
Just received an email, this morning....We’re sorry, but your order has been cancelled.
:-(
Is there some kind of cloth or other material that they can place on their vents to reduce the possibility of catching the virus through a shared HVAC system?
I heard a report similar to that out of Maryland a few minutes ago on WMAL.
They are building all of the necessary facilities, but are not really able to staff them, and they may look to the military.
I hope Fredo is taking it. I know in his case, it would be privileged class use, but somebody has to be the guinea pig.
You said “Guinea” you you racist!
Plus a possible second peak when we open back up for business, in which case, given all the extra hospital capacity we’re setting up, we might as well just let it burn through the second time around (sigh) while keeping the vulnerable at home. Shutting down a second time could mean curtains for our economy.
I woke up in the middle of the night last night with a horrible headache...Immediate thought was how long since I have last been out -count the days - oh probably not Wuhan Flu.
I have to go out today so will have to reset my calendar.
