A former St. Louis police officer accused of killing another officer while playing Russian roulette pleaded guilty on Friday and was sentenced to seven years in prison, the authorities said.
The former officer, Nathaniel R. Hendren, 30, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree involuntary manslaughter and one count of armed criminal action in the shooting death of Katlyn Alix, another officer with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, according to Kimberly M. Gardner, the St. Louis circuit attorney.

Unfortunately, neither one was very smart and they were playing with a semi-automatic handgun.
They were not even playing Russian Roulette.
They were playing hey let’s kill each other real good.
The stupid was strong in these ones
I don’t buy this story but if true “play stupid games, win stupid prizes”.
According to court documents, Hendren met Alix at his apartment in the 700 block of Dover Thursday morning. Hendren was on-duty at the time and Alix was not. While at his apartment, both officers -on duty- were playing with guns when Hendren took out a revolver. Hendren emptied the cylinder of the revolver and put one cartridge back in it. He spun the cylinder, pointed the gun away and pulled the trigger. The gun didnt fire. Alix took the gun and pointed it at Hendren and pulled the trigger, it didnt fire then either. Hendren took the gun back, pointed it at Alix and pulled the trigger. But this time, the gun fired, hitting Alix in the chest. She was taken to the hospital where she later died.
Every time someone asks, “How stupid can a person be?”, someone takes it as a challenge.
Egad!
Were they going to just keep pulling the trigger until...
How is this involuntary manslaughter? It should have been voluntary or aggravated.
Whatever it was, it wasn’t Russian Roulette.
I have to think they were spinning the cylinder each time. If not, we're lucky to have these 2 morons off the street.
It’s a good thing they were cops and therefore highly trained and responsible enough to have guns.
I'm pretty sure that was meant as humor.
Remember! Only police officers should have guns because they are trained professionals!!
Anyone else curious as to why the married female officer met him at his apartment, or is it just me?
Agree. Dude shot her in cold blood and made up this nonsense cover story. Give him the chair.
Apparently this is what he did on duty.
Great use of police wages.
I always wonder about these Russian roulette stories. Or when they claim they’re just cleaning their gun.

Sounds like they were having an affair off duty. Makes me wonder if this was stupid games with a gun, or something else.
Exactly. I cannot fathom why cops
would do this. Or anyone else.
I was always told assume the gun is
loaded & never point it at anyone
Unless you intend to shoot.
