Sexual orientation has a correlation with skin cancer prevalence, new research finds.

Gay and bisexual men have higher rates of skin cancer over the course of their lifetimes compared to heterosexual men, according to a study published Wednesday in the journal JAMA Dermatology. Bisexual women — but not lesbian women — were found to have lower odds of contracting skin cancer compared to heterosexual women.

“Sexual minority men..." Is that another way to say homosexual or is this "people of color"? Do we need to add another letter to the BLT community?

It’s their skin telling them it doesn’t want to be gay and touching other men’s skin.

Indeed. Fabulous vacations, tanning and preening likely account for the statistical difference.

Time was that AIDS deaths were written up as ‘cancer’ or ‘pneumonia’ in the obituaries

Every homosexual man I know is miserable. Their disordered sexuality dominates their lives and emotions, involving them in a cycle of depression, anger, drugs/addiction, violence, illness.

Two thoughts:

1. Many gay men like to show off at the beach, get tans, etc. More exposure = higher risk.

2. Gay men generally pay a lot of attention to their physical appearance and thus are more likely to notice/go to a doctor over something odd looking on the skin than straight men.

“Sexual minority men..."

Ha! If you were from Mars, and watched today's U.S. produced TV shows and movies for the first time, you'd think this country was made up of mostly homos and lesbians, because that's all that's in any of them.

I wonder how many identified as gay?

The photo they used in the article (probably a file photo) could easily be the start of Kaposi’s sarcoma, which is almost unique to hiv\aids.

I wont post images here, as they are disgusting, but you can do a search and have at

Sexual orientation has zero to do with skin cancer.
Its just a fact that homos like the warm climates and beach environment so they populate those regions, just as gorgeous woman do.
Its easier on the spirit mind and body

This is like saying Fl has an abnormal cancer rate.
Well maybe because folks live their lives elsewhere and move to Fl,get diagnosed with Cancer, ever type and die.

Dont mean Fl causes cancer its just your life style before moving there did.

Well, Kaposi’s Sarcoma manifests as skin lesions. I’m wondering if that is what they mean?

Has he received an endorsement from Astro Glide yet, asking for a friend?

Need more detail.

Just what areas of their skin are getting the cancer? Asking for scientific data.

Fingers, toes, scalp, back, thighs, . . . , better stop here.
