Post birth influnences of nature cause identical twins DNA to derivate to some very minor degree... but still very close.
I am an identical twin... Outside of always having a close/best friend since birth... we tend to have the same physical ailments.
So when one of us has a condition, the other will make an appointment to be looked at.
For example, I have spots on my lungs. My twin went to be looked at as well... turns out he has the same condition. They are non-cancerous and probably from an infection we were both exposed to.
We are each other’s canary in a coal mine when it come to any genetic abnormalities.
Cool.
You turn into a Democrat?...............
Only identical twins (or other multiples) have the same DNA.
Same means identical. Most of the DNA tests that I have seen, mostly the family DNA services, have errors. They are sufficient enough to match distant and close DNA relatives. But have errors and are not 100%.
Also, the goal of selecting a donor for a bone marrow transplant is to find a “perfect” match so that rejection is reduced. All I am saying is that the process was very successful in this case and the conclusions are wrong.
The true test would be that be if they tested his semen before and after the transplant. If there is a significant difference, then they can claim that his semen’s DNA “changed.” Maybe the doctors did this — my apologies, I didn’t read the article.
Good Point.
Q. After my vasectomy where do the sperm go?
A. The sperm, which are made in the testicles, cannot pass through the vas deferens once they have been cut and tied, so they are reabsorbed by the body.
—does this mean they had to extract it with a needle and they meant sperm and not semen, no idea.
I read an article years ago about a patient who received an organ transplant. The patient also had some of the donor’s stem cells injected into his bone marrow. The result was that the patient had no rejection of the new organ.
Sure, but their method of extracting it is gross.
Unless its one of those Hair of the Alien scenarios where youre double teamed by a hot Nordic and a juicy Latina.
There’s a “filled the wrong bone” joke in there somewhere.
My twins were DNA tested to see if they were identical. They are. It’s been many years, but the within something like. 0001%,
*ping*
Do they have the same father ?
=ducking=
=running away=
Look at your actual data. There are probably gaps and missing data. I remember looking at mine.
It was before 23 and me. It was sent to a lab with just whether or not they were identical and the percent of error.
23 and me is probably a mill and not great but sufficient for what it is used for.
Thanks fieldmarshaldj.
PING
Maybe Hunter Biden can claim he was a bone marrow donor...............
What happens if the bone marrow recipient is female?
