President Trump cracked a joke about the impeachment effort against him during the annual White House pardoning of a Thanksgiving turkey.
Appearing outside the White House on Tuesday alongside two turkeys named Bread and Butter, Trump joked that the fowls had been subpoenaed by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff to appear as witnesses.
“Thankfully, Bread and Butter have been specially raised by the Jacksons to remain calm under any condition, which will be very important, because they’ve already received subpoenas to appear in Adam Schiff’s basement on Thursday,” Trump joked. “It’s true. Hundreds of people have."
“It seems the Democrats are accusing me of being too soft on Turkey,” Trump added. “But Bread and Butter, I should note that, unlike previous witnesses, you and I have actually met. It’s very unusual.”
He also used the opportunity to take a jab at the media.
“In any event, I expect this pardon will be a very popular one with the media,” Trump continued. “After all, turkeys are closely related to vultures. I don’t know if I like that line, but there’s a little truth to it.”
Trump praised the military and thanked them for their service. He went on to grant Butter the presidential pardon, but both of the birds will be spared from ending up on a table at Thanksgiving dinner.

I actually laughed out loud reading the President’s comments. He really is very funny.
The left abhors ridicule and Trump wields the sword of scorn so well.

I walked by the TV and heard some of his jokes live.
He was very funny, but the press didn’t laugh much, because they were the butt of a lot of them. Makes sense to compare the President’s adversaries to turkeys, doesn’t it? No sense of humor.

I was a dorky 17 year old girl with Ronald Reagan election posters in my bedroom. (I got to vote for him on my 18th birthday - exactly election day in 1984.) I thought I knew what a real man was then, but then Emperor God Trump blazed onto the scene and took my swooning to a whole other level!
THAT, is hilarious. If Obama said that, even the press would have laughed out loud and clapped at his brilliant humor. Delivery needs work though, he should have left off the "I don't know if I like that line..."

Word is that Navy Brass is already looking at negating the Presidents pardon and court martialing the turkeys with the intent to execute them at dawn on Thanksgiving.
The president is a breath of fresh air. No wonder he is 98% popular with his base/2016 voters. I can’t wait to vote for him.

Yup. He is steadfast in his convictions. THAT is unheard of in all of American political history. God has given America Donald Trump...a last resort to redeem ourselves and right the ship of wrongs that has listed so far left.

What I really meant to say is: a middle aged white woman, college educated, who has never lived anywhere near a black person, but was once “courteous” to a black sales clerk.
