lizabeth Banks has spoken out about new movie Charlie's Angels' poor performance at the US box office, blaming it on poor marketing.
The $50million reboot which she wrote, produced, directed and starred in pulled in a disappointing $8.6 million on its American debut last weekend, falling short of its projected $12-15 million domestic opening.
And when asked at Wednesday night's London premiere if she believed British audiences would respond better, the star told MailOnline: 'First of all, everyone that sees the movie loves the movie. I think that we had a problem with just, like, no one knew it was out.'

"In regards to female superhero films, Banks added: 'They'll go and see a comic book movie with Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel because that's a male genre."
Talk about trying to make a silk purse outtta a sow's ear(no pun intended)
"Charlie Angels" is a "T&A"premise from the TV show to both movies. Slapping a Feminist, anti male theme to a titillating male fantasy isn't going to put many male butts in the theater. Might as well try to make Benny Hills show into Leo Tolstoy's "War and Peace" Not going to happen. This is how deluded Hollywood is today due to "Woke" and "Cancel" culture.
Yet this is what Banks wore to the British debut to her feminist movie.
She really wants to be taken for a "serious director.(Rolls eyes)

He does? Honestly, I can’t think of a dud he’s ever made. I may be wrong, but my impression was he is still one of the most bankable actors in the business.

The TV show was a product of the 70's. The Angels were beautiful, fun and sexy besides being TV detectives.
That show couldn't be made today, an era dominated by humorless, bitter feminists.

The few who saw it, loved it.

He does? Honestly, I cant think of a dud hes ever made. I may be wrong, but my impression was he is still one of the most bankable actors in the business. Me too. I know his recent movie "Gemini Man" didn't do so well, but I went to see it and I liked it. I thought it was great. I think it's problem was that it got steamrolled by "the Joker" movie which was a blockbuster. Had it came out without having to compete against "Joker", it would have probably done quite well.
Also Maleficent was oddly popular for some reason. Not my cup of tea though.

Exactly. Not one of these new dyke CA’s can compare to the beauty of Cheryl Ladd, Farah F and Jacklyn Smith.

Those whose lack of taste in movies led them to buy a ticket confirmed their lack of taste in movies by liking it. Got it.

I like most of his movies. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in a movie theater, but I watch most on tv when I find them. He was great in “Ali.”

I didn't see that one, but I've seen him in numerous other movies. I especially liked his performance in "I Robot." He was great in "Bright" also. He was great as the Genie in "Aladdin." Thought he deserved an Oscar for "Concussion."
I don't see all his movies, but everything I've seen with him in it, I have liked.

On Rotten Tomatoes, Gemeni Man got 26% rating from critics, but 83% from the audience. I always go with audience ratings. Screw the critics.
According to Forbes, in an article written in August, Smith is the 10th most bankable actor in Hollywood.

I just did what she told me to. She said in an interview she made this for women, so I stayed home. Now because I did what she told me too, she’s mad at me and it’s my fault?
I’ll survive.
