JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told a Christian broadcaster she learned her husband was seeking a divorce in an email from his attorney.

The revelation came in an interview released Tuesday with James Dobson, founder of the Family Talk Christian ministry. He said the interview had been conducted previously.

Palin said she received an email June 19 from the attorney, almost three months before Todd Palin filed for divorce on his birthday in September.

She described the filing that came shortly after their 31st wedding anniversary as devastating. “I thought I got shot,” she said.

Palin said they’re going through counseling and their marriage isn’t “over, over.” She said attorneys are “getting rich” off them.

"Serious head injury, Todd Palin is probably not the man he was before this trauma."

ER,

This Sled injury, were did you get the info it was TBI related, I remember many broken bones and his body was pretty beat up. I don't know if they put him in a coma (like they do) until someone heals. Please Opine.

I can't imagine the recovery in your 50's those of us that had major vehicle related injuries when we were young and recovered know that was hard enough with youth on our sides.

It’s visceral and poetic.

My husband and I often get a kick out of thinking of what we’d do. Fisher House Foundation, Salvation Army, and scholarships or funding endowed chairs for certain studies are things we’ve thought about.

It’s a fun exercise. But even if you decided to give most of it away, it would still be a whole lot of work and worry; and I don’t think that people who buy that Mega-Millions ticket every week really appreciate that :-)

Reading through (most of) this thread it seems everyone is convinced one (or both of them) are cheating, or because of some strain caused by Trig or something like that.

Statistically speaking, the reason the vast majority of marriages fall apart is nothing sexy or titillating like the above. Just the “dull” issue of money, and fights surrounding same.

I see no reason to believe otherwise here. Unless some other detail comes out.

I know a lot of people fight over money; but I think marriages more often end because people just grow out of them in one way or another. Divorce isn’t always the best solution to that, but for some couples, it is.

I know that when I meet women from some other countries - I'm thinking especially of women from India, South America, and Africa who are in my own current circle - they are almost always less hard and abrasive than many American women are.

And I'm not a man, so I'm not speaking from a male sexual perspective; it just seems from everyday interaction that these women are quite often more wise, warm, and engaging - and not just as companions for men, but even as friends for other females.

Hannah Arendt, when asked about womens lib/feminism, said:

"the real question to ask is, what will we lose if we win?".

I think that’s why I tell my beloved that I’d rather he win a small amount and the same with the larger amounts; that it be won by multiple winners.

Sudden or greats amount of money can be so destructive and most folks haven’t a clue as to that fact.

Those pro-lifers today in the California PP lawsuit got nailed today. They’d be someone to give the money to take care of the amount they have to pay.

Getting evidence about child dismemberment and body selling and THEY get the bad end of the verdict.

Insanity and evil run amuck.

I agree with you. Many people have no idea how it would change their lives, in ways for which they are often not at all prepared to deal.

Just reading this now.
Your comment about rally and drawing a crowd rang so true.
Right after she was nominated I walked a mile to park and attend the Fairfax Park rally. It was electric!
I drove to Manassas for a Trump rally and felt the same excitement in the crowd.
I just happened to be in the area each time.
Several Trump rallies now and I realize the power of some candidates!

Don’t listen to all these people who are offering condolences here and acting like this is some terrible thing. This will be the best thing that ever happened to you. You just have to fight to make sure you don’t get divorce raped in court. Hope it doesn’t cost you too much. But the freedom and independence is totally worth it.

Whenever I have the opportunity to talk to a young man who is thinking about getting married or who is engaged to get married I always ask him to ask himself one question the question is “what do I get out of this deal ? what is the upside for me?” Invariably the answer to that question is nothing. All the benefits are one-sided and lie with the woman. So you just have to ask yourself that same question. What was the upside for you in this 27 year marriage? How did you benefit? What did you get out of this deal.? Be honest with yourself and enjoy!!
