A Popeyes employee has been arrested after being caught on video body-slamming a customer outside a Tennessee store.
Deriance Ra'Shaiel Hughes, 29, has been charged with felony aggravated assault after allegedly attacking Debra Staggs in a dispute over her check.
Rocky McElhaney Law Firm which is representing Staggs, 55, said she was trying to get a refund after being charged twice for her $13.11 meal.
Video of the attack quickly went viral with the footage showing people chasing Staggs outside the restaurant. She is then body slammed to the ground by a man who is now believed to be Hughes.
Staggs has been left with a broken leg, nine fractures in her elbow and six broken ribs.

Yes, I blame Popeyes for hiring thug employees, creating fake chicken sandwich shortages, and not handling the crowds who show up better. Just like the stupid door buster sales on Black Friday, and the poor crowd control during those events.
No, Popeyes is not responsible for rude and violent customers, but they don’t seem to be doing much to control the situation at their stores.
Have you had one yet? I haven’t but just found out one is about 15 minutes from my house. I suppose one day I’ll get one. I have to admit I tried the impossible whopper at Burger King and was amazed at how good it was. I’d imagine the chicken sandwich must be pretty good for it to have a 45 minute wait.

I recently stopped at the Roseville, CA. Popeye’s. I was a bit surprised that the entire staff was black. I was polite and they were very nice. I would go back. Enjoyed my lunch.

The last chick til a in the villages in Florida was such a disappointment. Bathrooms filthy, the workers unpleasant and the food cold. I love the restaurant but not that one.
