BTW for those who have no idea what he is talking about, years ago King wrote a book called "The Dead zone" about a guy who after coming out of a coma could predict someones future by shaking their hand, and he shakes the hand of this political candidate Greg Stillson and he foresees that Stillson is another war mongering Hitler type who brings about nuclear armageddon. So now these lefties are putting King on a pedestal as this modern day soothsayer "OMG he was exactly right about Trump" even though Trump resembles NOTHING about what Stillson is.

Stephen King is a hack writer who churns out pap in such volume and at such high speed, something of his is occasionally bound to stick to the wall. Having said that, what does stick to the wall is generally enjoyable, albeit usually with some out-of-place twist or MacGuffin that really doesn't shoe-horn itself into the overall narrative too well. That is probably why Hollyweird writers who try to adapt his stories to films can't quite drag the horse across the finish line satisfactorily. At his best, King's writing is 85% attention grabbing and 15% 'WTF?'.

Stillson wasn’t a Hitler-type. He was a weak leader who eventually had to resort to nuclear weapons.

A study was done decades ago through the DoD. They set out to determine the results of strong leadership vs weak leadership. Generally, they ran wartime scenarios for conservative and liberal teams. The liberal teams always had to go nuclear first. Why? They didn’t deal with problems when they were manageable so they eventually painted themselves into a corner.
