Orinda, Calif. Four were dead and others wounded when gunfire erupted at a large Halloween night party outside an Orinda home late Thursday night, according to authorities, CBS San Francisco reported. Orinda police confirmed early Friday that four had died in the shooting outside a large home on a quiet street nestled in the Orinda Hills.
An earlier tweet by the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office public information officer indicated that multiple people were shot in the incident. The shooting was first reported at 10:45 p.m.
The CHP and other agencies were reportedly called to the scene due the the size of the crowd at the site. Police told CBS San Francisco they were overwhelmed by the crowd where the shooting happened.
Video from the scene showed multiple patients being loaded into ambulances as others limped away from the scene. Video also showed police talking to people who appeared injured.

I know. Those guns are like wild animals. You never know when they are going to attack or in this case “erupt” into a mad frenzy.
“5 miles from Oakland and Berkeley. Rented house.”
Yeah, but a million away in things other than distance.
At least it used to be that way.
Orinda is a super hoity-toity white-flight white-bread “not in our community” ex-urb. These sorts of things simply do not happen there.
As a historical footnote, it’s also where Owsley made the acid.

ACID KING,’ 4 HELPERS IN CUSTODY
ORINDA, Calif. (UPI) - Five persons, including a college dropout known as “king of acid” who allegedly earned a million dollars manufacturing and selling LSD, faced federal arraignment today on conspiracy charges.
Augustus Owsley Stanley III, 32, whose grandfather was a Kentucky governor, congressman and U.S. senator, was arrested by agents of the Federal Bureau of Drug Abuse Thursday in a raid on a fashionable two-story home in this residential community 40 miles east of San Francisco. Stanley is known throughout the west as “king of acid.”
Pat Fuller, western director of the bureau, said the home contained “a very sophisticated chemical laboratory” and large quantities of chemicals.
More than 100 people were reportedly at the party and a neighbor told KTVU-TV the house was rented through Airbnb for the party.

In the clip above I heard the words: "short term rental".
Sounds like an AirBnB
I watched the video in the link........It was a black party
This article
has a screenshot of a deleted Instagram post advertising what MAY be this party.
“...According to a now-deleted Instagram post, there were ads for a party someone in Orinda that were boasting an AirBNB mansion party...The flier also said to BYOB and BYOW. Doors would open at 10 p.m., according to the post. KTVU has not independently confirmed that this was the same party.”
> Were teens involved?
Looks like it. Ergo it is not a mass shooting.
The airbnb listing is for the bottom flat of that house, not the entire structure. I bet whoever rented it didn’t realize that as he described a “mansion party.” The living room in the airbnb photo looks pretty small. Not that any airbnb rental should be used for an openly advertised party.
No, someone else suggested visitors from Oakland, could well be from the video.
I’m surrounded by weekend rentals and they’re all party central. Horrible. We thought about renting our house out for about 3 seconds. No bleepin’ way.
