There's a lot to the subject particularly when one includes what is in the Mesopotamian, Akkadian, Sumerian, Assyrian, Babylonian, etc. literature in such an analysis.
There's a whole lot more to the story than is presented in Church and most pastors won't touch this stuff with a ten foot pole.;-)
BTW, I highly recommend "Unseen Realms" if you haven't read it...though I don't necessarily agree with everything he posits. Check out the reviews at source above if you are unfamiliar with it. Very good for in context Old Testament study.
I suspect that's because it drifts rather far afield of the unadorned gospel on which they should focus. Anyway, I'll look into Heiser's offering--thanks for the referral.
