Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has become somewhat of an independent darling during her run for the White House...During a recent appearance on "The Rubin Report," Gabbard surprised many by vocalizing her personal opposition to third-trimester abortions:
"I take a more libertarian position on this issue that government really shouldnt be in that place of dictating to a woman the choice that she should make...I think there should be some restrictions, though."
"For me personally, I would not make that choice for myself, but I dont believe that I should be telling anybody else the kinds of decisions that they should make for themselves or their family and therefore a woman should have the right to choose and I will stand up and fight to protect her right to do so."
"I think the third trimester, unless a womans life or severe health consequences is at risk, then there shouldnt be an abortion in the third trimester."
In contrast to many of Gabbards Democratic competitors, this stated opposition to late-term abortion is, at first glance, refreshing. After all, there has been an alarming trend of Democrats offering their support for abortion in the third trimester and even up until the moment of birth.
But in terms of the inherent worth of unborn life and the issue of abortion itself, Gabbard's declaration means very little. Conservatives should not embrace her as a Democratic pro-life champion of any sort.
In 2013, Gabbard co-sponsored a bill that would make numerous "limitations and requirements concerning abortion services unlawful and prohibits their imposition or application by any government." Individual state restrictions would be overridden.
Pro-life group Live Action said of the bill, "This is Roe v. Wade on steroids.

LOL
Stealing...
She is the closest thing to sane there is in the current Democratic Party, along with John Delaney who like her has almost no support at all.
It is notable, though, despite all, that you simply cannot be pro-life and remain in the Democrat Party. There is no room for anyone there who does not support abortion on demand.
And you cannot stay in the Dem party if you’re not for government paid “universal” health care and transgender rights. Both of which Miss Gabbard supports.
Of course, this chick is going no where.
I would hope that the dems run a candidate who would not trash the nation. That would be Tulsi. Why? Because if for any reason President Trump decides not to run for a second term, or if he chose Nikki Haley as VP replacement (that rumor scared me), I’d want a viable choice.
Shes pro-infanticide. All the disgusting evil Rat candidates are pro-infanticide.
That’s Padma Lakshmi.
That's also true. In short, you cannot remain in the Democrat Party if you are a Christian. I used to say, the DNC is bleeding Christians, and it used to be true. At this point, I find it hard to believe any remain, other than new converts. And frankly, the DNC has made it clear they don't want them.
You cannot stay in the Dem party if you’re sane. I see we have people here who are going to vote for her if (in a very weird scenario only a freeper could dream up) Trump gets rid of Pence and puts Nikki Haley in his place.
Not true.
Google doesn’t know the difference...
It’s okay by me, Padma is hot. :)
EEGator says that’s not her picture anyway... it’s what I get for believing google
Yeah, I was wondering about that. That woman looks long and lean like Melania. Tulsi is kind of short and thick.
Name one.
EEGator says it’s Padma Lakshmi
She’s is/was a host on Top Chef and a model.
She was married to Salman Rushdie of The Satanic Verses fame.
No, because I just looked through the posts of the guy Im thinking of, and he didnt really cross the line. I wont call somebody out on my own suspicions. Ill ask for my earlier post to be removed.
LIFE IS NOT A PRECIOUS ITEM TO A HINDU.
Yes, she is an abortion radical, even if Tucker Carlson seemingly has the hots for her.
