Look up the earth temperature during the Renaissance era, there was no glaciers on Iceland or Greenland.

NASA Declares Carbon Dioxide Is Greening The Earth

Infowars ^ | 04/26/19 | Mike Adams
In direct contradiction to the scare stories about carbon dioxide being relentlessly pushed by the climate change alarmists, a scientific study published in Nature Climate Change and highlighted by NASA reveals that rising carbon dioxide levels are having a tremendously positive impact on the re-greening of planet Earth over the last three decades, with some regions experiencing over a 50% increase in plant life. The study, entitled, “Greening of the Earth and its drivers,” used satellite data to track and map the expansion of green plant growth across the globe from 1982 – 2015. Published in 2016, this study found that rising atmospheric carbon...

"But I’m 59. I’ve seen it before. Young ones think it’s the end of the earth."

That's why everyone should read a book on natural history. Even though they should know better, people tend to think that the world's climate and geography were always just as they are now, and that any change spells catastrophe.

But the earth has seen vast changes, from continental drift, to ice ages, to the extinction of the dinosaurs. 10,000 years ago, the place I am sitting was under hundreds of feet of ice. A million years ago, it was tropical, three million years ago it was two hundred miles out in the Pacific Ocean. (I'm going from memory, so my time-frames might be off, but the fact of massive change is correct.)

And if worse comes to worse, we’ll have more arable land to grow crops.

So......since we are all going to die soon, nothing matters. Party ON! Do whatever you want because you will soon be dead. There are no consequences for whatever you do against anyone or anything. It is a LIB nirvana.

1922?

That’s pretty stupid.

I recall an Art Bell show, one of the ones with real scientists on...

His guest pointed out that the British mid-19th century expeditions to find a Northwest Passage sequentially failed earlier and earlier because of the growing ice sheet.

(Granted, it was on the other side of NA, but still about the same general latitudes.)

There’s probably some kind of connection to be made between liberal analysis of the climate and Democrats counting votes.

Not Global warming...Global changing. This little hot rock floating in freezing space does go through changes. Kind of what warm things do when they meet cold things.

At any given time some part of the world is ‘warmer than normal’ and some parts are ‘colder than normal’.

The reason papers like the Washington Post suck - and writers like Jason Samenow are an embarrassment to the profession - it because they consistently choose example that (while true) present a lie.

Had Jason Samenow chosen to only covered stories of places consistently COLDER than normal it would still be technically ‘truth - but a 'truth' that creates the larger lie... Which is typical of the Washington Post. Typical in their climate coverage and of their news coverage - and it's why newspapers are dying.

32 is freezing plus 40 means the water is 72 degrees in Greenland. Unless they were talking centigrade then the water would be 104.

No glaciers on Greenland 300 years ago?

I think you’ve been misinformed; were it true, the sea level would have risen and fallen tens of feet in that period.

Obvious, those are the freezing/melting points. But the water temperature off Greenland is much lower than 70*. I am currious why they don’t say what the temperature is.

“the extent of ice over the Arctic Ocean has never been this low in mid-June during the age of weather satellites.”... So the past 50 years we’ve haven’t seen this sort of melting... Which leaves only 4.5 billions years where we didn’t have satellites and this same sort of phenomena may have occurred. My guess is that in 1936 it may have occurred, that was a pretty warm year... But we didn’t have satellites back then.

I’m 76 and in Wisconsin. We are having another cool spring/summer, also wetter than average. However: the temperatures are about where they _used_ to be back in the 1960s/1970s. Ditto for the very cold winter we just had, except we have had colder ones within the past 30 years.

It’s a cycle.
