Or, in other words, it was a visual train wreck. Her focus on Latin American themed music is kind of a turn off for old white guys like me. You know...the people who paid her way when she was 25; and who can afford to go see her now. Maybe ten years ago, that stuff would have been "cutting edge", but it's passé now.

When Madonna first came on the scene in the 1980s, I thought she would have a short career, given her limited talents.
But she proved to have incredible moxie and showmanship, taking that very limited talent and turning it into a very long and very successful musical career.
Her attempts to make movies exposed the limitations of that talent; her movies (after “Desperately Seeking Susan”) bombed.

She was decent in “Evita.”
But overall, extremely limited as an actress.

You may not like it but when Babs does a concert tour, she sells out and her tickets aren’t cheap. Happily, she doesn’t do much politicking during her shows and her pipes are still pretty good.

Ray of Light was her last decent album. Since then it’s been just trying to shock people for the sake of it.

Good point! Most of her early audience has likely tapped out due to AIDS or Other.

Few older fans care about concerts. They turn out in droves for the Eagles or Paul McCartney or the Stones or U2 and the likes of them. Just not Madonna. Disposable top 40 pop music may be the ticket to quick fame and fortune but it's not the ticket to eternal hardcore fandom. No more hits, no more fans.

Shoulda teamed up with Bill & Hill. Together they could’ve filled one of the reading rooms at Shady Acres.

Of course, the $357 ticket price may have something to do with it.
To: C19fan
Well worth seeing, if for only the theater.
But her music sucks, even when played by the finest studio musicians.

“Few older fans care about concerts. “
Not that’s there’s reasonable comparison, but The Eternal Rolling Stones Road Show belies that statement.
They always sell out, every venue, every time.

“Metallica still sells out.”
Every venue, every show, every time.
But they have extraordinary musical talent. And that’s timeless.
Same with the Stones.

Foghat (with one original member) is touring. Playing free shows in parks in front of dozens of people.
