In all fairness, they were labelled, “IMPOSSIBLE Whoppers.”
Meh... Maybe they made some converts.
I wonder if it tasted like the real thing.
In other news: fifteen transgenders were denied access to the bathroom of their choice today...
But as long as it identified as vegan, all is good.
Sorry but I’ve had these various “good” veggie burgers... Impossible Burger / Beyond Meat burger.. and the other ones that are making noise in the press lately.
Yes, they are better than past veggie burgers, but no you are only going to think they are real meat, if you are want to believe they are real meat.
The taste is far superior to most veggie burgers, but its doesn’t taste like real meat, and the texture is nothing close
I have the opposite story. I was in Buck’s in Woodside, California last summer for lunch after a tough hike in the mountains. I ordered the “Impossible Burger” on the menu because I thought “That sounds like Hungry Man’s lunch.” The various dishes on the menu have some clever names and I thought “Impossible Burger” was just another name in that restaurant.
It came out and was a huge disappointment. Tasted like poor beef. It was runny. The top and bottom were falling off the innards of the patty. It made the bun go soggy and fall apart.
So I did something I hardly ever do...I complained to the waitress.
She patiently explained “Sir, you DO know that’s not a real beef burner, don’t you?”
That was my first introduction to the “Impossible Burger” and also the very last one I ate. That was a tough lesson learned.
I recently tried Qdoba’s Impossible burrito. Indistinguishable from real beef in appearance, taste and texture. Went back a few days later and they had run out of the stuff.
Like Eric Cartman’s “Beyond KFC”.
I assume people became suspicious when the vegan Whoppers tasted good.
In all seriousness, while Veganism is idiotic, the mangers directing the substitution with beef are worse idiots.
This is fraud, telling a delivery driver to inform customers that they changed the order doesn’t cut it, if a customer orders a product you do not have, tell them it was a mistake and offer them the opportunity to cancel the order and get a refund.
Hmmm... this vegibuger is pretty tasty!
I’m a committed carnivore, and my fondest wish is that some day someone would invent vegetables that are made of meat.
What if it had been pork, passed off as beef? ALL BK’s would close for 3 days for sensitivity training. Then all m*zzards would be given free burgers, for just coming in and saying they were m*zzards. The restrooms would be opened up to m*zzards to use as foot baths.
Good thing it was beef.
So, what have they been passing off as beef?...............
I remember McDonalds getting into huge trouble for using some sort of pork product in its food and not telling people.
this is awful - what about people who don’t eat meat out due to kashrut who ended up eating non-kosher meat thinking it was vegetables. ugh.
